The Worcester Park Day Nursery & Pre-School is an OFSTED GOOD (2020) nursery in Worcester Park, at 42-44 Longfellow Road just along from Waitrose supermarket. Our nursery welcomes children from 3 months to 5 years into a spacious building with a large baby and toddler/pre-school room, with strong safeguarding and nurturing care that helps every child feel secure and inspired to learn through play.
Our bright, inviting rooms overflow with sensory activities and resources that encourage exploration, friendship and fun, creating a vibrant space where children thrive alongside our experienced staff. Our welcoming team crafts environments rich with opportunities for discovery, helping little ones build confidence and curiosity in every moment.
Our garden areas provide ample outdoor space divided for different ages, fostering physical challenges, imaginative play and a connection to nature through features like climbing, digging and growing. Nutritional Approach

We believe food is fundamental to healthy growth, happy minds, and positive lifelong habits. In the earliest years, what children eat shapes taste preferences, supports brain development, and lays the foundations for long-term health.

All meals are freshly prepared on site each day using quality, seasonal ingredients. Our menus are developed with expert guidance, designed for inclusion, and go beyond Early Years Foundation Stage requirements. We want every child to become a confident, curious eater.

Laura Mutton

Hi, my name is Laura and I'm the Nursery Manager at Worcester Park. I began my career in early years straight from school and over the past 23 years have progressed from Room Practitioner to Room Leader, Deputy Manager and now Nursery Manager.

Along the way I've gained my Level 3 Diploma in Early Years, Levels 4 and 5 qualifications, Early Years Professional Status and Level 3 Forest School training. I'm passionate about continuous professional development and keeping my knowledge current and relevant. Every day in this role is fun, rewarding and deeply fulfilling, and knowing that I play a part in helping children grow, learn and thrive while supporting families on their journey is what drives everything I do.

Our Curriculum

Our curriculum is our promise to children and families. We believe every child should be treated as an individual and respected for their individuality. Built around four key aspects, our curriculum supports the EYFS, Development Matters, British Values and the Characteristics of Effective Learning.

The four aspects are: being a confident communicator, being a skilful problem solver, leading a healthy and balanced lifestyle, and being the best version of ourselves. We aim to provide a safe, secure, stimulating and happy environment where children develop confidence and self-worth, knowing they are loved.

When children leave us for their next journey, we want them to know it is ok to be who they are, to love what they enjoy and to always try hard. We hope to have taught them to show compassion, be kind to friends, respect differences and be inclusive of all. Both children love coming into nursery which makes leaving them that bit easier. The team are fantastic and open days and activities make you feel part of a big family. My son often talk about playing with with two particular girls, who I think he likes more than us, a staff member does an amazing job with our daughter, who also looks so happy to see her, while another staff member teaches our son all his favourite facts. My daughter has been at the Worcester Park Day Nursery for 8 months now and absolutely loves it there. In the beginning, I was very apprehensive about leaving her with people I didn't know, but the team reassured me throughout the day with updates on how she was doing, which put my mind at rest and allowed me to ease back into work after maternity leave. Now my daughter walks through the door and waves goodbye to me and this is down to the wonderful staff who adore her. And is coming out with new words every day and is learning so much at nursery. We get photos most days so can see what she has been up to and a daily diary of food, sleep and nappies too. Can't thank the staff enough they continue to be excellent in all they do for the children at the nursery. Would highly recommend.

I cannot say enough positive things about Worcester Park Day Nursery and Preschool. It is such a positive and nurturing environment where we have watched both our (very different!) children grow in confidence and ability day by day. The staff are exceptional. They truly take the time to understand each child individually. Development reports and parents' evenings are regular and thoughtfully delivered, with clear knowledge and genuine affection for each child's individual quirks and abilities. In preschool, they not only help children learn about the world but help them find their voices. My son has recently started school and he entered the classroom with such self-assurance, armed with all the lessons he learnt from his time in preschool. My daughter is in the toddler room and her speech and understanding have developed at lightning pace. She loves the staff and the environment. My only complaint is that she is so excited to get into nursery in the morning that she barely looks back!

Review of The Worcester Park Day Nursery & Pre-School

Our little one attended this lovely nursery from 14 months old until leaving at 3.5 years old. He attended part-time and absolutely thrived there. His carers over time have been phenomenal. He's a very confident, bright boy and I am sure that is down to the lovely care of the team. He always created strong bonds with his key person as he moved through the different age rooms and made great friendships. There were only a couple of things that could be improved from my perspective. The photo updates were very scarce. Other nurseries receive several pics every day yet we were lucky to get a grainy photo once or twice a month. When your child spends so much of the day away from you it's really appreciated to get pics. We were also promised photos of the new food menu which never arrived. Diet is so important and while the descriptions seemed healthy and he always enjoyed it, it would have been nice to see what he's actually eating. Overall we loved the nursery, thank you.

This is a really wonderful nursery. The staff really make it! They have experienced childcare workers who are incredibly caring and provide lots of information/opportunities to discuss how your child is doing. They treat the children as individuals and engage really thoughtfully with bigger life events eg welcoming a sibling, potty training etc. They host lots of well-thought-out events and activities throughout the year eg they recently hosted a really wonderful graduation ceremony for preschoolers 'graduating' to school. They make the children feel like valued members of the nursery community. A really special nursery!

We are beyond happy with The Worcester Park Day Nursery and Preschool. Our eldest daughter spent three amazing years here, and it was incredible to watch her grow in confidence, communication, and social skills. The teachers were always so caring and made her feel safe and loved. She formed strong bonds with them, and leaving was truly emotional for all of us. Our youngest started this past June, and we've already seen her flourish in such a short time. The welcoming environment has made her transition seamless, and like her sister, she's already attached to her teachers. We've noticed great improvements in her vocabulary and creativity. The staff at The Worcester Park Day Nursery and Preschool creates a nurturing, supportive space for the children, helping them develop important skills while making learning fun. We're so grateful for the impact this nursery has had on our daughters' lives and can't recommend it enough.

My 4-year-old son left Worcester Park Nursery at the end of August 2024, having been with them since just before his first birthday. I cannot express enough how grateful I am to the incredible team at Worcester Park Nursery. They have been more than just caregivers-they truly feel like family. The love, care, and dedication they've shown to my son have had a profound impact, setting him up for success as he now excels in school, with his confidence growing every week. I firmly believe that much of his progress is thanks to the wonderful staff who have given so much of themselves to support him. Now, my 1-year-old daughter has started her journey at the nursery, and it's heartwarming to see her thrive as well. Being apprehensive at first with starting full-time, my anxieties were instantly put at ease with the entire settling-in process, approachable and nurturing staff and well-resourced, happy environment. Review of The Worcester Park Day Nursery & Pre-School

I have had my two kids grow up at the nursery and have been so happy with the staff, the activities, the nurturing and overall communication. It is such a relief when as a parent, you can see that your kids are happy, loved and taken care of so well. As a huge plus, the turnover at the nursery is very low, which means that the children are not overwhelmed by a constant change in key workers which provides so much comfort. Another huge plus for me this year was the nursery potty-training my son. It was something I could not find the time to do myself with full-time work and limited holidays. They did an amazing job and had no issues with constant accidents and change of clothes for a month. As my son moves on to school, we'll all miss nursery so much!

Our son started at this nursery when he has just learnt to walk and seeing him now as a running, jumping, joking and laughing three-year-old, I know it's largely due to the incredibly nurturing environment at 'school'. When he first started he went straight into full-time care as I had a newborn on the way. The mum guilt hit hard. However, after seeing how kind and gentle the staff were and after seeing his progress in speech and other developmental areas, I could finally rest assured that I have made a good decision. Our boy is so very happy, what more can we ask for really?

Our son has been attending the nursery since the beginning when there was a change in ownership/management. We were sceptical and our son was reluctant to go to the nursery at first, but there's been day-to-day noticeable improvement since day one. There has been constant development both in terms of investment in infrastructure and child learning activities. Our son went to this nursery for about 18 months and he only stopped as we moved out of London. The management and team have been amazingly supportive throughout the experience (which for us, started in the depths of covid lockdowns etc!) Communication and responsiveness to any questions, calls or worries are super fast and they are very proactive in talking with us about anything related to our son. He really enjoys going there and has formed great relationships with the staff and all of his key workers as he has moved around rooms etc. Would highly recommend it! Thank you, team!

I am very happy with the nursery. Excellent communication and the staff are all brilliant. Our son has been going to the nursery for the past 6 months and I really feel he is being supported, encouraged to communicate, and is well taken care of. Over time, he has really picked things up and every day that he goes to nursery he surprises us with new words or new actions, and we are so grateful for all the hard work of all staff and management. My son has been in the nursery for almost a year now and we are having a very positive experience. I was concerned at first about his adaptation as he spoke little English and everyone was new to him, but the nursery team did a wonderful job welcoming and integrating him. He is always in a good mood when I pick him up and he often mentions going back to school when we have holidays. Whenever he mentions that he does not want to go to nursery, we just remind him of the activities and people he will see there and he becomes interested in going again. He really doesn't want to miss out on the time he has there, indicating that it is a fun and positive environment. Another great thing is how easy it is to reach out to the nursery team and get a reply about any concerns or needs, they also reach out to us when needed. They are very attentive to the child's needs and helpful.

Both my children have been to The Worcester Park nursery - my eldest was there when it became The Worcester Park Day Nursery & Pre-School and the changes and improvements have been absolutely incredible. My daughter has been going for the last 14 months or so and loves it. Her confidence has grown, her speech and development have come on in leaps and bounds and she's always happy to go. My toddler loves it. He developed very quickly with his caretaker and peers. My kid is at his monster age but still enjoys the nursery and I think others are enjoying too. Several times when I pick up my kid I heard parents are thanking the staff at the door. There is a high demand for places, and I heard they increased the number of staff to accommodate the staff to kid ratio.

This nursery are absolutely fantastic. My son has been attending this nursery since May 2021, as I was returning back to work. The staff are always super friendly and helpful and they are very caring and loving towards the children. My son has developed so much here and they have taught him to talk, how to use cutlery and eat well and he has so much fun there. The renovation is really good in there and everything is new and clean. I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone considering it.

My son has been attending the nursery since January 2021 and he is very happy there – it feels like a second home to him. He’s always very happy to be dropped off in the morning. All of the staff are friendly and supportive and they provide him with lots of care. I’m always kept up to date and also via the nursery app that will give you details of his day. I am so happy with my little one at this nursery. Fabulous recent refurbishment inside the building, excellent communication, and the staff are all brilliant, many of whom have been there for years (which I think speaks volumes about how lovely this nursery is). My 4-year-old starts school in September, and I really feel he is getting excellent preparation, whilst also having loads of fun. He is so happy here, and we are so grateful for all the hard work of all staff and management; they do a truly outstanding job. Would highly recommend it.

I have two kids in there, and I enjoy working peacefully knowing that while I am at work, my children are safe, having lots of fun and learning. I have been using this nursery form last 4-years for my two kids. Since the new management this year, it has drastically improved its services. The communication is very clear, prompt and friendly. We are kept updated with the child's progress on daily basis. The new decor made the nursery clean, spacious and bright. Staff are friendly, helpful and caring. The quality of learning and food is great. I particularly like the idea of surprise art and craft bag she brings home from the nursery, which means the nursery cares about kids development even if they are not in the nursery. Nursery seems to be flexible in an emergency situation and happy to accommodate. The location of the nursery is great as very close to the station and market. My daughter absolutely loves her carers and nursery. I will definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a safe and thriving place for their child.

We are very pleased with the take over of Bizzy Bees. The core strengths of the nursery remain. This is a small environment with a real family feel. My daughter has an individual relationship with every single staff member at the nursery, who have been rightfully retained. She has never once been reluctant to attend since starting 2 years ago at 8 months. She looks forward to going in and sharing news with staff and friends. ("Nursery woo hoo!" is a common phrase in our house). I know that she feels safe, secure and nurtured by everyone in the setting. Her development is clear and she has formed wonderful friendships with the other kids. As a parent, I find the management extremely flexible and responsive. New additions from the recent investment, like the app, provide more insight than there was in the past as to what she had eaten and all important milestones with potty training, which makes it easy to be consistent at home. We remain thrilled with everything.

We are very happy with the nursery under its new management. Its best original feature – the warm and caring staff – has been retained, which is wonderful, while everything else has been upgraded, especially the communication with parents. We are delighted to receive regular updates about what our daughter is doing and how she's developing; the Eylog app is brilliant and such a great tool. In a very challenging year, I have a lot of confidence in the job that the management are doing to keep everyone safe and the children's fun experience intact. Our daughter talks about her friends (both children and staff!) all the time and is clearly learning so much from her time there. She bounds out every evening, full of excitement about the things she's been doing. I love what I hear about the combination of child-led and themed or structured activities, and optional home learning is great for giving me ideas, too! All in all, we're delighted with the nursery and would highly recommend it.

This is a lovely nursery; I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a nursery. The staff are really friendly, always welcoming at the door and at giving you information. I would definitely give them 5 stars!

Review of The Worcester Park Day Nursery & Pre-School

Staff have been fantastic looking after our child who started at 7 months old. He is extremely happy there and is developing very well under their care and support. The communication from the staff is regular and detailed and clear plans are laid out for our son’s development path. The nursery’s app allows us to keep in touch effectively and get a real insight into our son’s daily activities. Most importantly our son seems to have a lot of fun and is very comfortable with all his key workers.
