About CherryBrook Nursery

CherryBrook Nursery is an OFSTED GOOD (2024) nursery in New Haw, offering a welcoming setting where children are supported through active learning and purposeful play. Our team brings a range of experience and backgrounds, helping create a calm, engaging environment where children feel secure, understood and encouraged to explore.
Learning follows the Early Years Foundation Stage and is shaped around children’s interests and development. Experiences may include stories, creative play, early communication, sensory activities and opportunities to build confidence and independence through everyday routines.
The nursery environment offers variety and balance, including additional spaces that support different types of play and learning. Children may enjoy time in the Cosy Hub for quieter moments, and a soft play area for energetic movement and physical development.
Outdoor time is thoughtfully supported, with balcony access from each classroom to encourage free flow to outside spaces. Children also benefit from separate gardens for younger and older age groups, helping the outdoor environment reflect different ages and stages.

Nutritional Approach

We believe food is fundamental to healthy growth, happy minds, and positive lifelong habits. In the earliest years, what children eat shapes taste preferences, supports brain development, and lays the foundations for long-term health.

All meals are freshly prepared on site each day using quality, seasonal ingredients. Our menus are developed with expert guidance, designed for inclusion, and go beyond Early Years Foundation Stage requirements. We want every child to become a confident, curious eater.

Meet Our Nursery Manager

Jay Gauldie

My name is Jay and I am the Nursery Manager. I joined the nursery in April 2026 and bring with me a strong background in managing early years settings. I enjoy getting fully involved in nursery life, especially during messy play, as well as singing and dancing with the children. I am deeply passionate about creating an environment where every child feels valued, supported and inspired to learn.

I strongly believe in child-led learning, encouraging children to explore their own interests and develop at their own pace through meaningful and engaging experiences. I am also a committed advocate for SEND inclusion, ensuring that every child receives the support they need to thrive and reach their full potential. My goal is to lead a nurturing, inclusive and high-quality setting where children, families and staff feel confident, respected and part of a supportive community.

Review of CherryBrook Nursery

We have had such a low to experience with this nursery. The staff are kind and dedicated and most importantly, trained in childcare and psychological aspects of children. I have learnt so much from these women. They truly care about the children and their well being. No matter how tired they are, there was never a day when they haven't been kind and affectionate. Transition after the pandemic was done with so much effort and we truly appreciate the amount of work that has gone behind this. Our kids and we will miss seeing these women everyday but we wish them all the very best.

All the staff are so friendly and helpful. The children are all so happy and I have no issues dropping my sons off, they enjoy going. The staff are very good at updating the app so we can see what our children are doing throughout the day.

Review of CherryBrook Nursery

My son has been at CherryBrook Nursery for nearly one year. He has absolutely loved being there and he has become so much more confident since starting. One evening recently we weren’t able to pick our son up until well past 6 PM due to being in an accident - but the staff were so helpful and stayed late to look after our son until we could get there. We love seeing what he gets up to on the app every day and the staff at CherryBrook are so informative and happy whenever we contact them. We couldn’t recommend CherryBrook more! Especially the tiny tods room and toddler room staff.

I have two children in CherryBrook Nursery and could not recommend them highly enough. The staff are competent, enthusiastic and caring, the office staff and manager run the nursery flawlessly, the food is excellent and the classrooms are engaging and well kept. But, most importantly both of our children have really flourished there and their growing confidence is noticeable. Really fabulous nursery all round!

Review of CherryBrook Nursery

Our daughter started at CherryBrook when she was 10-months-old. The baby room staff took such good care of her, and she was always happy when we dropped her off. Her self confidence has grown so much, and she really enjoys getting stuck into different activities. Especially colouring! She is now in the Tiny Todd’s room, and she loves it again. The staff take the best care of her, and it shows as she is always eager to get into the nursery and see her friends and teachers. It’s a big deal choosing a nursery for your child, but we have definitely chosen the right one for our little girl. She loves coming, and we look forward to reading about her day on the parent app. Thank you so much, CherryBrook for taking the best care of our little girl. It shows, and we are forever grateful to you all.

Review of CherryBrook Nursery

My son has just ‘graduated’ from Cherrybrook this September and our little toddler just started her journey there, following her brother. It’s a lovely nursery with such a professional and resourceful team. We have been through every room from Babies to Preschool, with tears and laughter at each step, but not disappointed in any of them. The teachers are true experts of childcare and children education as well as having listening ears. Both of our children like the teachers there so much through all sorts of room transitions, Covid situation, baby settling, etc. It was the leadership and brilliant handling of small and big situations through the tough that makes the real difference, on top of the pleasant daily operation (not saying it’s easy!) with happy children. Now my son thrives in school with recognisable confidence and kindness - we know that the Cherrybrook team had formed a big part of who he is. Thank you.

Review of CherryBrook Nursery

I am so happy that our children have gone to CherryBrook Nursery. They absolutely love going in every day, often running in and forgetting to say goodbye to us, as they’re so excited to get into nursery! The staff are amazing! They have been absolute heroes during COVID as our children continued to attend nursery and all of the staff have worked so hard at adapting the nursery for reopening. They are always so considerate of the children’s needs, welfare and learning and go to great lengths to make sure the children are engaged each day with a variety of activities. We have never once doubted the safety, care or development of our children. Communication from the staff and management has always been fantastic and they are all so friendly and approachable. I can honestly say I will be as sad as our children will be when they have to leave CherryBrook to attend school but I’m grateful for their time that they have had there and would recommend this nursery to anyone in a heartbeat!!

We just wanted to email to say a huge thank you for all that you do for our daughter. Despite both of us working full time we feel as though we have an excellent understanding of what is going on day to day at nursery. For working parents, it is a dream to remain somewhat involved, if not at least informed. It allows us to carry on the hard work you put in to her development at home. The recent focused observations you have sent us via the portal are testament to that. The staff in my daughter's room always take the time to feedback, provide advice and we honestly don’t know how they have the capacity to upload information and photos to the parent portal daily. Multitasking at its best! A big thank you!

Review of CherryBrook Nursery

My daughter has been here just over a year now, it continues to impress me even a year on. The staff, they are amazing - from head office, management, room leaders and general staff. They've nailed it. The processes work, they are easy to follow and all members of staff are approachable and so helpful. Every child gets to know each member of staff which massively reduces stress for the kids. The care is fantastic and my daughter loves the nursery and all staff. The activities they do with the kiddies are great, every day there is something planned and the facilities that are available for the children are broad. Each room having its dedicated garden is a massive plus point. If you're looking for a nursery where staff are helpful, consistent and just a general joy and will look after your child like they are family. Then look no further, this is the nursery for your little one. Compared to another local nursery used for eldest child, CherryBrook smashes it out the park. AMAZING.

Our daughter has had a brilliant first 5 months at Cherry Brook. The effort by the staff to welcome her and make her feel secure and settled into Little Learners was exceptional. She is now starting her settle-in to preschool and it has been managed and orchestrated so well, she is so excited to start. It is a very special nursery that is down to the staff and their abilities to allow each child to thrive as individuals but also enjoy group activities in equal measure.

My daughter has attended Cherrybrook since she was 9 months old and is now preparing to start primary school. I can't fault anything about her time there. She has learned things I would never have thought to teach her, she has made lifelong friends and her key workers have given her the best care possible. I know she will be very sad to leave but I know she has had the best start possible.

Our two daughters (1-year-old and 4-year-old) started at Cherrybrook in January. They both settled in really well and love their time at the nursery. All of the staff we have dealt with seem excellent and really care about the children in their care. There is a wide range of activities organised and the overall management of the nursery seems excellent.

Our daughter loves going to nursery. At 20 months, she looks forward to coming here the three days she's in and is always tired and well looked after at the end of the day! She's made lots of friends and often surprises us singing songs she's obviously learnt at nursery! They're also very supportive of our routine, accommodating extra days and days off (ie around holidays) and the occasional unpredictable commute from London!

My son loves Cherrybrook. It is a very well run nursery and all the staff are friendly and helpful. My son spends his day doing lots of fun activities and enjoys having a lovely outdoor area where they go out to play every day. He’s had some problems with his speech and the nursery staff have been very dedicated in giving him extra support which has made such a difference. He’s so well settled there and it’s going to be sad to say goodbye later this year when he starts school.

Review of CherryBrook Nursery

We absolutely LOVE Cherrybrook and all the staff. Our little girl has come on leaps, bounds and more since starting here at 8.5 months old. She loves it so much I have to physically drag her away and the end of the day! All the rooms are lovely places for them to play, learn and explore and we love catching up on what she has been doing every day on the Parent link app. Our little girl talks about nursery all weekend and skips back in on a Monday morning for her rice krispies!

Review of CherryBrook Nursery

Such a lovely nursery with caring and friendly staff. It seems like nothing is too much trouble for them. They really go out of their way to look after your child's needs and yours, as it can be worrying to leave your child when they are crying for you! My son moved up to the next class and they helped him settle in well. They did short visits to the other class to get him used to the other children and staff before he went there for full days. He loves it! Their choice of food is healthy and delicious! The activities they do are educational and assist with development. I love the activities they do for special occasions - Mother's Day being one of them where the mums were invited for afternoon tea. My fridge is full of my son's artwork which he brings home. I would definitely recommend this nursery!

I couldn't wish for a better nursery for my son. He has been at CherryBrook since he was 2 and I can honestly say he wouldn't have progressed to where he was now, without the love and support of the CherryBrook staff. It is such a lovely and nurturing environment and the kids really love being there and learning. The staff have helped us through some tough transitions with the support that has always gone above and beyond. I love CherryBrook and wish my son didn't have to leave in September.

Our children have attended Cherrybrook for 2 and a half years now and we are extremely happy with the nursery. Most importantly our children have been happy from day one having started in the baby room and now both are in Pre-School. The facilities are great with continued efforts to ensure everything is well maintained and updated. All the staff are superb; always friendly and professional and show a real enthusiasm in looking after the children. I have no hesitation in recommending this nursery.

My son has been attending CherryBrook since 5 1/2 months old and loves it. The staff are fantastic and cater for his changing needs with varying activities throughout the day. The nursery consistently invests in new toys for the children to keep them stimulated and entertained as well as the staff who regularly undertake training to keep them up to date. Lovely bright rooms with good access to outside facilities.

Both my children have been to CherryBrook. We felt very welcome when we first visited and that has continued all through my two years so far (ongoing) association with the nursery. The staff in the children's room are really professional and always endeavour to include you in whatever decisions are made about your child. Both my children have had a good grounding from their experience at CherryBrook that has and will support them as they go onto school.
