Learning & Support

This is all about how your child learns and develops with us. We are committed to giving every child the best possible start in life by fostering a love of learning. Children's earliest years are fundamental in shaping their lifelong outcomes. That is why we create nurturing environments with high quality teams to deliver exceptional care and education for all our children and their families.

Each of our nurseries has its own bespoke curriculum, thoughtfully created by the team who know their children and community best. While each curriculum is unique, all are aligned with our five core commitments, ensuring a consistent standard of care and learning across every setting. The best way to understand how our curriculum comes to life is to see it for yourself.

Learning through play, exploration and challenge

We provide well-resourced, nurturing environments that let children learn through play, exploration and challenge. Our carefully designed spaces create opportunities to think, discover, experiment, make decisions and problem solve.

Supporting all seven areas of learning

We support all areas of learning within the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework. From communication and language to physical development, and from personal, social and emotional development to understanding the world, every area is thoughtfully woven into your child’s day.

Environments that inspire

Our spaces reflect children’s interests, needs and motivators, and are designed to capture their attention and spark awe and wonder. Every child has access to all areas of the provision, including outdoor spaces that support physical development, curiosity and a connection with nature. Our aim is for every child to leave us feeling confident, capable and excited about the next step in their learning journey.

Understanding and supporting every child

Our skilled practitioners take time to get to know each child and identify emerging needs once they are settled and confident in their environment. We know every child is unique and develops at their own pace, and we celebrate these individual journeys. We complete the Two Year Progress Check to highlight strengths, identify areas where extra support may help, and recognise any concerns early. Early identification allows us to work closely with families and, where needed, other professionals to support the very best long-term outcomes for every child.

Inclusion at the heart of everything

We are committed to the inclusion of all children and follow the principles of the SEND Code of Practice. Every child has the right to learn, grow and reach their full potential alongside their peers. We work hard to remove physical, communication and attitudinal barriers so that every child feels welcomed, supported and that they truly belong.

Neuro-affirming and sensory aware practice

We recognise that children think, learn and experience the world differently. Our teams are trained to celebrate neurodivergence, understand sensory needs, and use strategies like sensory activities and calm spaces to help every child feel safe and ready to learn.

Reasonable adjustments

We make reasonable adjustments so all children can fully access our provision. This means tailored support, carefully planned learning experiences, and enabling environments that meet individual needs.

Working together

Partnership with you from day one

Parents and carers are our partners every step of the way. You are your child’s first and most important educators, and we value the knowledge and understanding you have of your child. We work in close partnership with you and involve you in all meetings, planning and reviews, building a strong triangle of trust between children, families and team members.

Working with specialists

We work closely with a range of professionals who bring specialist knowledge, including Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, the Portage Team and Health Visitors, among others. We truly value multi-agency working and understand the positive difference it can make to children’s lives. By working in partnership with specialists and other professionals, we ensure children receive the right support at the right time, helping them achieve the very best outcomes.

Supporting transitions and next steps

We gently guide children through each stage of their development, with transitions carefully planned and key information shared with new practitioners to ensure consistency and reassurance. We believe in listening to your child’s voice and involving them in decisions in ways that suit how they communicate. We also support families to access the Local Offer and help you navigate the local SEND support services with confidence.
