Modern Slavery Statement

Our commitment

Family First is committed to conducting its operations ethically and with integrity. We recognise our responsibility to take steps to ensure that modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and exploitation do not occur within our organisation or our supply chains.

We are committed to protecting the dignity and rights of all individuals and to promoting safe, fair and respectful working conditions.

This statement is made in accordance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and outlines the steps Family First takes to prevent modern slavery in our business and supply chains.

Our organisation

Family First provides services that support children, families and communities. Our workforce includes employees, contracted professionals and suppliers who help deliver these services.

We operate primarily within the United Kingdom and work with a range of suppliers including service providers, consultants, facilities providers and other operational partners.

Our policies

Family First maintains a range of policies designed to ensure ethical and responsible conduct across the organisation. These include:

  • Code of Conduct

  • Safeguarding policies

  • Whistleblowing policy

  • Recruitment and employment policies

  • Supplier and procurement practices

These policies reinforce our commitment to preventing exploitation and ensuring fair and lawful employment practices.

Recruitment and employment practices

Family First is committed to responsible recruitment practices. We take steps to ensure:

  • Employees have the legal right to work

  • Fair employment terms and conditions are provided

  • Workers are not subject to coercion or exploitation

  • Safeguarding and welfare are prioritised

All employees are recruited through formal processes that include identity checks, reference checks and safeguarding procedures.

Supply chain responsibility

Family First works with suppliers and partners who share our commitment to ethical practice.

Where appropriate, we seek assurance that suppliers:

  • Comply with relevant employment laws

  • Do not engage in forced labour, child labour or human trafficking

  • Operate with transparency and fairness

We expect suppliers to maintain standards consistent with the principles set out in the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Raising concerns

Family First encourages employees, partners and stakeholders to raise concerns about unethical practices.

Our whistleblowing arrangements provide a confidential mechanism for reporting concerns, including any suspected instances of modern slavery or exploitation.

Reports are taken seriously and investigated appropriately.

Ongoing commitment

Family First recognises that preventing modern slavery requires continuous awareness and vigilance. We remain committed to reviewing our policies and practices to strengthen our approach over time.

This statement reflects our commitment to ethical practice and to protecting the rights and wellbeing of all individuals connected to our organisation.
