Nutritional Approach
We believe food is fundamental to healthy growth, happy minds, and positive lifelong habits. In the earliest years, what children eat shapes taste preferences, supports brain development, and lays the foundations for long-term health.
All meals are freshly prepared on site each day using quality, seasonal ingredients. Our menus are developed with expert guidance, designed for inclusion, and go beyond Early Years Foundation Stage requirements. We want every child to become a confident, curious eater.
Meet Our Nursery Manager
Summer Miller
Hello, I’m Summer, the nursery manager.
I first joined the nursery during my schoolwork experience and later returned while completing my Level 2 qualification in college. In 2014, I officially became part of the team as an apprentice while working towards my Level 3 qualification.
Since then, I have progressed through a range of roles including Level 3 Practitioner, Room Leader, Third in Charge, Deputy Manager and I am now proud to be the Nursery Manager. My journey within the nursery has given me valuable experience across all aspects of early years care and education.
Childcare has always been a significant part of my life. Growing up, my mum worked as a childminder, which greatly influenced my career path. Seeing firsthand how rewarding it is to support and teach children during their early, formative years inspired me to pursue this profession.
I am passionate about creating a nurturing and supportive environment and curriculum where children can learn, grow and thrive.
I am incredibly proud of the long-standing team we have built at The Potters Bar Day Nursery and Pre-School. Their passion and commitment make it a truly special place for children and families.
I have achieved a Level 3 qualification in Childcare and in 2022, I furthered my education to become a qualified Level 3 SENDCo.
I am a mother to two young boys, both of whom attended The Potters Bar Day Nursery. I am passionate about helping both staff and children to reach their full potential.
