In particular Toni (her key worker) has been central to our daughter's development. She has always adapted to her needs and has been able to get the best out of her. Headstart Crews Hill welcomed my daughter with open arms from the very first day! She is very happy & comfortable here, and I feel secure knowing she is very well looked after. Communication is fantastic, and staff go above and beyond to support my daughter. The outdoor space available is wonderful, and I know she experiences many new things daily, thanks to the staff and the brilliant activities they make so much effort in planning. Our daughter has been at Head Start Crews Hill since she was 15 months old, and has gone from the baby room, to nursery room and is now in preschool. And I honestly can't fault it! We have been so happy with the nursery, from their amazing personalised care and creative activities to the food and the facilities - especially the outdoor areas. It has been an excellent start for our little one and she has been nothing but happy there the whole way through. I would whole heartedly recommend for any parent who is looking for childcare in the area with flexibility, outside space and relationship building. Not to mention how she has come on leaps and bounds thanks to their excellent learning programe. We are kept up-to-date via an app, including photos, events for parents to join and any key info. We are excited to be sending our second child here very soon! Thank you to all of you who have made our daughter feel so content and welcome every day, you know who you are!

My son loves going to Crews. He absolutely adores his key worker and all other staff and frequently talks very fondl of them at home. They really genuinely care about him and his development and are very nurturing. He has made great friends with his peers. The outdoor space is amazing and he loves spending time outside. My daughter has loved every moment at nursery! The staff are brilliant, really caring and have formed a great relationship with my daughter. Being at this nursery has helped contribute to her becoming a confident, creative, compassionate and clever little lady. She loves the people, always talking so fondly of the staff and other children, and she LOVES the food, always having second and third portions at most meals!! Our favourite part of all, is the set up and space at the nursery. Endless grounds for adventures, which is perfect because Athena loves to be outside. I believe they are working towards their forest school status, with one staff member already certified. This is the main reason we chose the nursery, avoiding the cramped city nurseries that we see so much of in London.

Both my children loved their time at Head Start. My second started school this week and has settled in with ease "as if he'd been here forever." They made good friends, their nursery teachers were always kind and caring, attentive, and formed close attachments to them. My first never misses a chance to go back and say hi. Everything was good, but the Spanish lessons, the concerts, and the graduation were real highlights. I wholeheartedly recommend.

I have enjoyed being part of this community since the first day I visited, the team was beyond kind and made me feel very welcome. I really like that they have a settling process of 5-6 weeks which gave me the confidence to know my daughter was ok on her first day and go back to work as she spent time there before. I love the facilities of this nursery, kids can be kids, run and enjoy nature. They have indoor and outdoor activities daily and they don’t have to make “special tours” to the garden as it is just outside the rooms. Even though I have a lot of nurseries closer to my place, I don’t mind driving 15 minutes daily to drop her.

My one year old has recently started at Head Start Crew Hill and I can honestly say we are so pleased that we chose this nursery. The care she receives is so lovely and I'm sure it has made the transition easier for her. The staff all knew her name straight away and make a fuss when she arrives in the mornings. They've been really supportive encouraging me to call up to check in on her if I have needed to and going through any questions I have when I drop her off. This has made a big different to me as a parent whilst I adjust to the change! My husband and I both love the app that shows pictures of her that day and tells us when she slept, what she ate and how many nappy changes she had that day. We really look forward to seeing this each day. The nursery also provides a weekly newsletter letting us know the activities for that week and also reminders on things we might need to know/do. Thanks to all the staff here for doing a fantastic job!

Our child has been with Head Start Day Nursery in Crews Hill from the age of 18 months to 2 years and has loved every day. He wakes up on Monday and Tuesday every week excited to go to nursery and talks about all the staff and his little mates. My daughter has been attending Head Start Day Nursery Crews Hill since January 2022 and I couldn’t be happier with the choice we have made. We knew from the moment we walked in that this was the right nursery for us. The outdoor space is wonderful and the team is just great. The staff are caring and supportive and we feel happy and confident to leave our baby in their care. The communication is just great and we get regular updates from the room based staff as well as weekly updates from the management team. As someone who is from an education background I must add that the learning opportunities are just exceptional. They even have chickens in their garden which the children help to care for. The food is freshly made on site and my little one is definitely fed really well.

We sent our son to Head Start from 9 months old and now at 13 months we have moved out of the area and will be leaving Head Start. As a young July baby, we were nervous for the start of nursery but Head Start have been so welcoming and accommodating to our needs in the under 2's room. The nursery have a fantastic settling-in period and have been so supportive in helping us with our journey of weaning which has taken some patience. They are all very dedicated staff who are all smiley and happy in the mornings which helps us feel at ease as parents when drop-off can be tearful for the baby. Would definitely recommend and come back if we are local again.

Review of Crews Hill Day Nursery & Pre-School

We returned to the nursery after a period away with a second child that was new to the nursery and the nursery itself was under new management. Generally, we’ve been very impressed with how it is managed, how proactively staff react to questions and issues raised and how comfortable and content our child feels in the setting. We welcome the management’s response to feedback and find them and all the staff very approachable. It’s been great to know also that our child has been exposed to a variety of activities - both those internally run and those brought in from external companies - and I think this makes a big difference to children who have been born and raised during the pandemic. The food offered and general welfare also seem to be of a very high standard. The staff also should be credited for continuing to work under challenging circumstances due to the pandemic and have a very family-focused approach - something which is really welcome at this time.
