Nutritional Approach

We believe food is fundamental to healthy growth, happy minds, and positive lifelong habits. In the earliest years, what children eat shapes taste preferences, supports brain development, and lays the foundations for long-term health.

All meals are freshly prepared on site each day using quality, seasonal ingredients. Our menus are developed with expert guidance, designed for inclusion, and go beyond Early Years Foundation Stage requirements. We want every child to become a confident, curious eater.

Chamille Gutierrez

Hello, I'm Chamille, the manager at The Clapham Day Nursery & Pre-School. I've been working in childcare for nineteen years and joined the nursery in September 2025. I hold my Level 3 in Childcare and Education.

Throughout my career, I've consistently sought opportunities to enhance my knowledge and experience in caring for children aged three months to five years from diverse backgrounds. For the past five years, I've been a nursery manager, leading a dedicated team while building strong, positive partnerships with parents, carers, and colleagues.

My approach centres on creating a nurturing and consistent environment where children feel happy, safe, and understood. I place strong importance on positive behaviour guidance, supporting children to develop emotional wellbeing, confidence, and respectful relationships.

Creating a warm, positive, family orientated environment from an early stage is my purpose and passion.

My husband and I are very happy with this nursery. We feel confident leaving our daughter in their very capable hands. The team is great. They are very patient and kind with the children. The manager is exceptional. She is very passionate in her role and she is always looking for things to improve in the nursery. The nursery has really gone a long way after a period where there was quick turnover of staff and the children were not getting the consistency they needed. I would 100% recommend this nursery to my family and friends.

Review of The Clapham Day Nursery & Pre-School

I strongly urge parents not to send their children to this nursery. After more than 2 years of attending full-time, my child - along with a few others - was abruptly removed without warning, following what appears to be severe internal governance failure. This wasn't handled with care or professionalism: we received a phone call late on a Friday afternoon, with no prior discussion or real alternative offered - just an unreasonable suggestion to move our children hours away to a completely unfamiliar setting. When asked how decisions were made about which children were removed, they have disclosed nothing beyond email chains I myself had initiated - no records, no meetings, no assessments, no proper process, no individual consideration. This place puts everything ahead of the wellbeing of the children. I regret entrusting them with my child's care and feel utterly let down. Even if it's the only available option, please look elsewhere - no child deserves to be in that environment.

The historic reviews on here are not reflective of the current state of the nursery. Don't be fooled into thinking this is a nurturing and safe place to send your children as it is not. My child suffered a serious injury at this nursery and it's only a matter of time before another child is hurt, as the nursery have no regard for the safety of the children. They may claim to take safeguarding seriously, however instead of addressing concerns they chose to cancel the contracts without notice or proper explanation and allegedly without the input of nursery management. This caused a huge amount of disruption and upset to my child, who was not given the opportunity to say goodbye to his friends. Do you really want decisions being made about your children by complete strangers and any attempt to raise concerns be silenced? There are so many better and safer nursery options in the area. Avoid at all costs!!

Appalling nursery and organisation who prioritise profits over childrens wellbeing. This nursery has been grossly understaffed for many months due to numerous management issues. I raised this and concerns about safeguarding of my child with the nursery and management team at Little Garden directly. Their response initially was to reassure me that they take all concerns seriously and would look to address it without prejudice. They then terminated my contract with no notice a few weeks later. They have closed rooms at short notice and have very poor standards of communication. If you want to ensure that your child goes to a loving, supportive, nurturing environment that you can rely on, do not choose this nursery under any circumstances.

Great experience overall. Wonderful, caring staff bonding with children overtime. Nice activities such as Spanish music and Yoga classes. Daily garden time. Reliable and not too strict with policies (eg. not sending kids home every other day for a running nose). The only thing I'd note is staff turnover a bit too significant at times, and prices are above average. Thank you to the staff of the baby room for these wonderful 15 months together.

We had the most wonderful time at Little Garden Clapham Day Nursery. Our child attended from 13 months - 24 months. The set up and garden are absolutely perfect, the children have lots of activities and some very caring staff. There were a couple of months where there was a high staff turn over; many new faces starting and other leaving, but that has since settled and the little ones have a brilliant team around them. We are genuinely sad to have left and would return if our work schedule changes.

Our daughter joined Clapham Day Nursery in February, at 8 months. I loved the nursery during my visit but was very anxious ahead of our start date. However, I need not have worried as the nursery has exceeded my expectations. Our daughter is really happy there, she hugs the staff on arrival and has big smiles at both drop off and collection. We do a full day, 4 days a week, 0830-1730. The staff love the children, are attentive, fun and caring and have been amazing. Once I drop off our daughter, I do not worry as I know that she is in safe hands. The other parents I have met are also lovely. The children all have big smiles and it is lovely to see. They carry out lots of activities and our daughter's development is clear to see. We would thoroughly recommend the nursery. The office is easy to deal with, friendly and there are no hidden costs. We pay for the fees via a salary sacrifice scheme, which this nursery is all set up for.

I can’t express enough how lovely Clapham Day Nursery is. My daughter has thrived both academically and socially in the year she has attended and I couldn’t be happier. The staff are attentive and caring, offering support not just to my daughter but to me too. I was very impressed with the variety of the meals that are served three times a day, giving my usually fussy child a range of dishes that she loves. Every day she is excited to go to nursery and always comes out with a smile on her face. The staff were amazing in supporting potty training, for both of us. Clapham Day Nursery & Preschool has been excellent for our two-year-old son. We were impressed with his progress at the nursery and could not be happier with how well he settled in. The Clapham Day Nursery is a lovely place for your child. Our daughter enjoyed her time there for two years and became a part of the family for her. No sad days, only fun and so much learning. We're very happy with our son's time at Little Garden Clapham Day Nursery - the team did such a superb job looking after him. He attended over the last year, ahead of starting school this September. His teachers there were very attentive to his needs, and very kind, cooperative and engaging in their approach. It was always a pleasure to receive the daily updates and photos from the team, and to hear from our son himself, as to how he enjoyed playing, singing, dancing and learning. Days when he was not there he missed his teachers and on his nursery days he was excited to be going. My daughter started at the nursery during the last lockdown. The team at Clapham Day Nursery and Preschool immediately put me at ease in terms of the measures in place for Covid security whilst still making it a fun place to play and learn for the kids. My daughter felt at ease immediately and really didn't need settling in with bonds quickly formed with the nursery staff and the other children. She would regale me with all the activities the staff and the children were involved in every day. And often asked to go to nursery when it was the weekend, I think it's always a good sign when the staff look like they enjoy working there and the children enjoy being there. I would happily recommend the nursery.

Our 2.5 son has been with Little Garden for the last eight months and we have been so happy there. The staff are warm and kind, and he loves going to school every day. The menu variety is excellent and their communication is also really good with daily updates and pictures. They are great with activities e.g. bringing duckling eggs in for the kids to play with, and I can see a tangible difference in how much my son has learnt from being at the nursery. They’ve been very communicative and collaborative with parents during Covid and also flexible depending on each family’s requirements.

My little girl is 9 months old and has been going to the nursery since mid-October. She is very happy and settled there, her days are very varied with different activities and toys to play with and she gets plenty of variety of meals and snacks each day. The facilities are very good and the garden area is well used. The staff are all excellent, they genuinely care and are building a great rapport with me and my child. They use an app to communicate information, updates and photographs which I love. It is a huge weight off my mind that I don't need to worry about her as I have returned to work, as I know she is happy and well cared for. I highly recommend!

My little boy has been going to Little Garden for 3m now (he's just over 1) I must say the staff are fantastic. We narrowed the choice of nursery down to 2-3 given location but opted for Little Garden because it felt more of a local nursery than one from a major company. He was a little apprehensive of leaving us at first but has settled down really well. The staff give great feedback, we get daily reports and photos and also he seems to love the food there! They have a great outdoor space and a lovely area inside he seems to be making great friends.

My daughter has attended Little Gardens since September 2020. I myself work in a nursery and being on the other side is very different. I was very impressed with the settling in period, I was given full information about how my daughter got on when collecting her. The staff are very caring and are always there to talk to if needed! I enjoy reading her daily feedback and smile when I see pictures attached too! The communication between management and parents is excellent including memos, ideas for activities at home and monthly newsletters. They have handled 2020 extremely well and all children seem happy! I would like to acknowledge the support and care which our little one receives at Little Garden Nursery. The staff understand and address our child’s needs so that the time spent there each week delivers the maximum benefit and, importantly, the maximum enjoyment. My son started Clapham Day Nursery when he was 6 months old and is still currently attending (aged 2.5 now). My son's keyworker and buddy are complete assets to the nursery, they are such wonderful, hardworking and caring people and my son adored them. He has now moved up a class and again the staff at Clapham Day Nursery are the most caring and kind and have your child's best interests at heart always! I would highly recommend this nursery if you are looking for a family community, a nursery that pays attention in detail to your child's development, nutrition and their overall wellbeing. My daughter attended Little Garden from Feb 2018 - July 2020. I have always been very happy with the care and support my daughter received. The management and staff are all lovely and welcoming. Being a single parent with all of my family living overseas, Little Garden has been my only support network and I have to say I feel a bit lost now without Little Garden. Unfortunately, I had to move my daughter to a different nursery due to moving house. Compared to our now new nursery, Little Garden is an absolutely fantastic and outstanding childcare provider.

It’s been about 6 months since the new management started and I am so happy with the changes. The rooms feel calm and organised and there has been a real focus on the children. The staff are amazing and kind and caring and this being my second child there we have formed strong bonds with those staff that have been there for both children. My eldest has settled into reception brilliantly and I have the great preparation from the preschool team to thank for that. We are very happy here.

My child has attended the nursery from Sep 2017 to Aug 2018. New in London, he naturally expressed shyness and lack of confidence at the beginning of the term. The team has supported him in an extremely gentle way, creating confidence and building the right environment for him to learn English, gain confidence and make new friendships. This was done by continuous dialogue with his needs and amendment of the curricula around the kids' interests, incl. letting the kids choose the weekly topic (monsters, space, etc), indoor activities, outdoor activities and more. A new manager joined around May and a couple of changes to the key workers have resulted in even better order and improvements to the daily routines.

This is a child centred and no-frills nursery where my child has felt at home. From day one they have taken care of her individual, educational and emotional needs. My son has been going to the nursery for the last four months. He's in the toddler room and he loves every second that he's there, even when he's not there, he asks to go. The manager is very, very good and he keeps his staff on their toes, making sure they are all doing their jobs properly. He's also very easy to speak to and has a good sense of humour. The staff are welcoming and really care for the children. I recommend this nursery to everyone.

We visited many nurseries, and are quite happy we picked this one for our 11-month old, though it isn't that close to home for us. Management and staff are very warm, welcoming and knowledgeable, You can tell they really care. Baby settled very easily, and we even learned some useful tricks to make life easier at home. Very nice facilities, great toys and activities, smart nutrition, and flexible enough to accommodate our non-standard fluctuating schedules. We also really like the diversity of languages among babies and staff. Cost isn't ridiculous, but a bit higher than other places. You get what you pay for though.

After reviewing a number of nurseries in the area we decided on Little Garden Clapham. Staff were very welcoming and thorough, they take time with the children and parents alike. The nursery feels like a family and all the staff know the children. Our daughter seems to love it and has developed her social skills, confidence and speech significantly. Most staff are enthusiastic and take the time to talk you through the day. Facilities are good and remain clean, tidy and organised. We feel very happy and confident in our choice for our daughter.

My daughter has attended the nursery for over a year now and she loves it. She is alway very keen to talk about her day, what she has learnt (for example she loves telling me new words she has learnt in the French class) and who she has played with etc. I have seen so many changes in my daughter and I love it! Our son has been at the nursery for three months and has settled in well. The staff are always welcoming, calm and he is always very happy to seem them. Communication from the management team is regular and efficient and I love the newsletter that the parents receive about upcoming events at the nursery etc. The baby room is very well managed and the staff always seem under control- no mean feat when you are trying to give breakfast to lots of toddlers. Our son is given healthy and varied food which is all prepared on site with no added sugar. There is a play area outside which the children seem to love. Overall we are really pleased with Clapham Day Nursery & Preschool and I would happily recommend the nursery to other parents - a big thank you all the baby room team.

Review of The Clapham Day Nursery & Pre-School

The nursery has been recently renovated and looks really nice. The staff are really making a good job in taking care of the kids and we can see that in our little one being very happy and smiley all the time. Overall, very happy with the choice.

Review of The Clapham Day Nursery & Pre-School

My son has attended this nursery for over a year and a half (since he was 20 months old) and we have been very pleased with it, especially over the last year where there has been a change of management (The new manager is excellent), a better organisation, refurbishment works (inside and outside - the new garden is fantastic!). The care and education provided is excellent, with good resources and what is the most important in our opinion, very loving and caring staff, with special thanks in that respect to the male nursery assistant in the Toddlers room and the nursery nurse in the Pre-school room. Our son feels very confident and happy there. Recently the Pre-schoolers have even been on a trip to the Science Museum, which I found absolutely brilliant for their age and I understand the trip was a great success! Looking forward to the next trips! I have already recommended this nursery and will continue to do so.
