Nutritional Approach
We believe food is fundamental to healthy growth, happy minds, and positive lifelong habits. In the earliest years, what children eat shapes taste preferences, supports brain development, and lays the foundations for long-term health.
All meals are freshly prepared on site each day using quality, seasonal ingredients. Our menus are developed with expert guidance, designed for inclusion, and go beyond Early Years Foundation Stage requirements. We want every child to become a confident, curious eater.

Our Commitments
Our curriculum is built around five core commitments that guide how we nurture every child.

Our Curriculum
At Bourne End, we transform the lives of the children and families we work with by creating an environment that supports learning. Our curriculum focuses on three key areas.
Our children will be confident communicators: expressing their wants and desires, using language including gestures and body language, and having their voice heard.
Every child will have a sense of belonging: feeling confident to express their thoughts and feelings, building genuine and secure relationships, and understanding that everyone is unique and different.
Our children will be independent learners: embracing their own choices in learning, celebrating and being proud of themselves and their achievements, and discovering independence at their own pace as curious learners.
Our aim is to make learning opportunities fun and enjoyable, giving children a chance to explore, investigate, discover and learn at their own pace through their interests and child-led learning. We measure impact through children's development and our assessment of their progress, reflecting on our teaching to extend learning opportunities and plan for each child's next steps.
