About Manor Farm Day Nursery

Manor Farm Day Nursery is an OFSTED GOOD (2025) nursery in Sandy, on London Road with excellent links to the A1 and nearby railway stations. Set in a beautiful Edwardian building within extensive, well-resourced grounds, the nursery offers quality childcare for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. Welcoming rooms and experienced practitioners ensure each child’s individual needs are met and their interests nurtured from the start of their nursery journey.
Indoors, children are encouraged to explore and expand their natural curiosity through play-based learning. Activities may include imaginative play, early problem-solving, creative projects and small-group experiences aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
The outdoor environment is a major strength, with large gardens and open spaces for daily outdoor play. Each room has its own garden area, giving babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers age-appropriate places to move, investigate and enjoy nature. Children may also experience forest school-style learning, including time in dedicated areas such as the teepee in the top garden, which supports adventure, resilience and teamwork.

Nutritional Approach

We believe food is fundamental to healthy growth, happy minds, and positive lifelong habits. In the earliest years, what children eat shapes taste preferences, supports brain development, and lays the foundations for long-term health.

All meals are freshly prepared on site each day using quality, seasonal ingredients. Our menus are developed with expert guidance, designed for inclusion, and go beyond Early Years Foundation Stage requirements. We want every child to become a confident, curious eater.

Meet Our Nursery Manager

Holly George

Hello, I'm Holly, the manager at Manor Farm Day Nursery. I've been working in childcare since January 2010 when I started as an apprentice at Buckden Day Nursery. I worked my way through my Level 2, then Level 3, then my foundation degree (Level 5), and finally my Level 3 in Forest School. I've worked across many of the Davidson Roberts settings and was delighted to return to my favourite, Manor Farm, in April 2025.

I believe children learn best through play, and all children should have fun whilst learning new skills. When learning feels enjoyable and natural, children engage more deeply and retain what they discover.

What I love most is seeing the children progress and make achievements at their own pace. Spending time with them reading stories, getting messy, and having fun makes every day rewarding.

Our Curriculum

Our nursery works closely alongside Development Matters and our curriculum to ensure children have access to all opportunities. Children make good progress across the setting, and these are celebrated through observations, assessments and feedback from key workers.

Children are prepared for the next stage in their development, with rooms working closely together to ensure the curriculum flows throughout the nursery. This means children know what the expectations are daily, alongside a routine they can use throughout the day.

My son has always received excellent care and support here. Regardless of the staff who look after him! Communication is always excellent, and we love seeing what he gets up to using the app. We love that he gets plenty of time outdoors in all weather, and there is always a large range of activities.

Review of Manor Farm Day Nursery

My child has been attending Manor Farm for a few months now and prior to that she was with a childminder. I was initially skeptical about moving my child from a childminders to a nursery, as I was worried she wouldn't receive as much of a one to one care that she was used to, as obviously the nursery is a busier environment than a childminders. However, I couldn't have been more wrong. Since my child has attended the nursery, I have seen a huge improvement in her social skills, speech, eating habits and over all, I've seen nothing but positive improvements to her development. My child loves all of the staff and she even asks to go to nursery on the days she's not meant to be there, which speaks volumes. Overall, I would say that I 100% recommend Manor Farm to any parents who are considering the nursery and that I've had such a positive experience from both my perspective as a parent and also my child's experience thus far.

I love the nursery they always accommodate for my daughter's needs in all areas. They always give me great handover information and help her in anyway they can they put on fantastic activities for her throughout the day. They always put her needs first. Review of Manor Farm Day Nursery

Both my children have attended Manor Farm, I chose the setting because of the garden and nice rooms. Since it was bought by another company there has been a large turnover of staff, which has caused some issues. However, I feel that this has mainly settled down now, and the team that work there are lovely, caring and responsive to the children. They've taken a lot of time to reassure my daughter and help her settle into going, which has been a slower process. Overall, I think Manor Farm is a lovely nursery for children to attend.

Review of Manor Farm Day Nursery

We enrolled our 10 month old son into Manor Farm in December and we are beyond happy with the progress he is making. Our son has created a lovely bond with the lady in the baby room who has really taken a shine to him and has created a great routine with him! She's absolutely brilliant! We are updated with his day, foods he is eating and it's lovely to see him engaging with other babies and staff when we pick him up. Also would like to add how helpful the rest of the team are! If we have any queries, they are more than happy to help and reply extremely quickly. We are really looking forward to seeing our boy grow and developing more as he moves up in the nursery.

My son is not yet talking. I have recently introduced sign language to him. Manor Farm have been an asset to this consistency in this new method of communication for my son. The staff have accommodated all of my requests regarding his newly established sign language, and I am very grateful for his opportunities to build on his confidence using sign, due to the consistency he receives at Manor Farm.

Review of Manor Farm Day Nursery

My daughter has been going here since she was 10 months and she is now 2 and 1/2. We have always found the whole staffing team warm, welcoming and friendly, making it easier on me to trust them looking after my daughter. Her learning and development have come on so much in the past six months through the varied activities. She enjoys the variety of snacks and meals offered and we like the varied menus offered. The one negative I'd say is the app, it is nowhere near as detailed as the previous app and is not as easy to use along with the constant rising fees with no noticeable change to care.

Fantastic staff and facilities. Our daughter absolutely loves to attend and enjoys all of the activities on offer, often coming home with some arts and crafts that she has created that day. The staff are wonderful, so patient and caring. Cannot recommend it enough.

I can’t praise Manor Farm Day Nursery highly enough. My son has been attending since he was 8.5 months old and he has progressed so much during his time here. He walks in every day excited to go to nursery. All the staff have been supportive and attentive during various transitions and big steps (no dummy, potty training, speech development). They always provide detailed handovers at pick-up and I love hearing about all the different activities he gets up to during his day. All the staff are lovely and friendly and my son has made so many friends with the other children in his class. Parking is an issue (especially at morning drop-off) but that is outside of the nursery's control.

Review of Manor Farm Day Nursery

Since 2020, both my children have attended Manor Farm over different time spans. My son started there when I was new to the area and didn't know anyone. Manor Farm was a friendly and safe place and I knew my son would be happy there. So my daughter joined in 2022 as well. All the staff are caring and kind and they provide a lovely and varied range of activities to keep the children entertained. I'll be sad when my daughter's time there is up when she starts school. Thank you Manor Farm!

I don't often leave reviews, but I wanted to say how amazing the staff and managers are at Manor Farm. Yes It is a lovely setting with a fantastic outside space but that's not all, what really makes this a great nursery in my opinion is the commitment of the staff and management in successfully making a child's day enjoyable to the point where they cannot wait to return, and by making each and every child feel special by going above and beyond on a daily basis. When I drop my grandchild off I know I can relax in the knowledge that they are being well cared for by a fantastic loving team. A big Thanks to you all at Manor Farm Day Nursery!

Review of Manor Farm Day Nursery

I think Manor Farm has been an amazing nursery for my son. He has recently gone up to Woodpeckers where he is learning so much and the lady is doing some really good activities with him (and everyone else up there!). We always get a really good handover with details of what he's been doing and eating. Everyone was very supportive of his potty training which was a big relief for me as a working full-time mum. I'd definitely recommend Manor Farm to other parents as he has done so well. In particular Robins and Woodpeckers he has really thrived and has made some amazing friends. He loves going to nursery every day and everyone has been supportive of me going back to work full time and working that out. Also very supportive of allergies as he has multiple allergies and is always included in everything! The only thing - everyone should be mindful of the car park, it's difficult to manoeuvre but can't be helped and there is plenty of parking on the road.

Both my children have attended Manor Farm since they were babies, and I have nothing but praise for the amazing staff! The nursery feels like a home away from home, with a generous-sized garden the kiddies can explore and burn energy in. The staff are friendly, approachable, experienced professionals who feel more like friends - I know my children are in good hands with them. We get regular updates with observations of their achievements and progress, which reassures me even more.

We have had no issues at all during his time there and are very confident in the care and learning opportunities afforded to our child. My little boy started at Manor Farm when he was 13 months old. He settled in really quickly in the baby barn until he was walking and ready to start in the toddler room. The ladies are really helpful and friendly and keep you updated via the app. What started (for me) as quite an anxious and stressful time (me going back to work and my little one starting nursery) was quickly made an easy and pleasant experience. I'm really pleased with our decision in Manor Farm.

Review of Manor Farm Day Nursery

I would 100% recommend this nursery to any parent, the staff are fantastic, my little one has developed so much since being there. Couldn't imagine him being anywhere else. I hope they will have space for my next child. They do so much with them, in and out of nursery, arts and crafts in, walks to town to buy ingredients for when they do baking. They have an amazing garden, which is separated into age groups, so they all have their own areas, growing fruit and veg, playing in the on site ball pool and soft play. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff either, we have long conversations regarding my child's development and they are keen to learn what he does at home, to ensure we are all working together for my child future. The chef also does a great job, cooking such a variety of food, not sure where she gets her carrots, he eats hers but wont eat mine! he he.
