About Little Munchkins Montessori Nursery

Little Munchkins Montessori Nursery is an OFSTED GOOD (2025) nursery in Hounslow, based in our purpose-built setting on Gresham Road. Part of the Family First Nursery Group, our nursery offers high-quality childcare for children aged 3 months to 5 years in a nurturing, stimulating environment. Our team combines a Montessori-inspired curriculum with a strong focus on safety, wellbeing and the Family First spirit of putting families first.
Children benefit from our thoughtfully prepared rooms, including a well-equipped under-twos space and age-appropriate environments for older children. Experiences may include practical life activities, early literacy and numeracy, sensory play and opportunities to follow their own interests with our support.
Outdoors, our purpose-built garden provides large climbing equipment, open play areas and a mud kitchen used for nature-based and forest school-style activities. These spaces help children develop physical confidence, creativity and problem-solving skills.
Our qualified, safeguarding-focused team builds strong partnerships with parents, keeping families informed and involved in their child's learning.

Nutritional Approach

We believe food is fundamental to healthy growth, happy minds, and positive lifelong habits. In the earliest years, what children eat shapes taste preferences, supports brain development, and lays the foundations for long-term health.

All meals are freshly prepared on site each day using quality, seasonal ingredients. Our menus are developed with expert guidance, designed for inclusion, and go beyond Early Years Foundation Stage requirements. We want every child to become a confident, curious eater.

Meet Our Nursery Manager

Rupali Rana

Hello, I'm Rupali, the manager at Little Munchkins Montessori Nursery. I've been working in childcare since 2000 and joined the nursery in November 2024. I hold my Early Years Teacher Status, Montessori Level 4, and I'm currently studying for my Senior Leadership apprenticeship.

I have over twenty years of experience spanning EYFS and Montessori pedagogy, and for the past five years I've worked in senior leadership as a nursery manager. My approach is rooted in a holistic understanding of child development, and I design inclusive environments that cater to diverse needs. I have specialized expertise in supporting children with speech and language delays as well as those with complex behavioral challenges.

Working in childcare is my true passion. Guiding children through their early milestones and watching them grow, learn, and develop is incredibly rewarding.

Review of Little Munchkins Montessori Nursery

From our initial contact, Little Munchkins Montessori Nursery has consistently demonstrated a highly professional and attentive approach. Approximately one month prior to our daughter's first birthday, we reached out to the nursery and were met with a welcoming and response. Our subsequent visit to an open day was particularly insightful. Our daughter visibly enjoyed the environment and formed positive connections with the practitioners, which affirmed our belief that Little Munchkins Montessori would provide an excellent setting for her development. The nursery's communication regarding our daughter's needs and daily activities has been exemplary. We greatly appreciate the daily feedback, particularly the honest reporting on her activities and food intake. While highly satisfied, introducing more challenging activities, Makaton communication, and fostering controlled risk-taking would further enrich their developmental experience.

Review of Little Munchkins Montessori Nursery

I'm incredibly happy with the care and education my child is receiving at this nursery. From the very beginning, the staff have been warm, welcoming, and professional, creating a safe and nurturing environment where children can truly thrive. My child has made remarkable progress both socially and academically since joining, and I credit the dedicated staff and their thoughtful approach to early years development. The communication with parents is excellent-I'm always kept in the loop about my child's daily activities, meals, learning milestones, and overall well-being. It's clear that the team genuinely cares about each child and takes time to understand their individual needs. They encourage independence, curiosity, and kindness, which reflects in my child's growing confidence and positive attitude.

Review of Little Munchkins Montessori Nursery

My daughter has been attending the Little Munchkins Montessori Nursery since August 2021, and I must say from the outset that it was one of the best decisions we've ever made as a parent! We went round quite a few nurseries in the Brentford/Hounslow areas, and Little Munchkins Montessori was by far and away the unanimous decision for both of us. We were so impressed with the cleanliness, the attitude and friendliness of the staff, and the general ethos from running as a Montessori - we felt this would be much more suitable for our daughter, and she's been enjoying going in every day since. The other parents are so nice and helpful too. There is so much outdoor facilities, it's a proper purpose-built nursery (not manufactured into some disused office space). The menu is really impressive, they rotate the menu each week, and it's so good that they get such a variety of foods to try. I would highly recommend all parents to consider Little Munchkins Montessori Nursery for their children!

Review of Little Munchkins Montessori Nursery

The nursery is very well run with great facilities for babies and young children. The staff are very welcoming, friendly, caring and professional. The food is varied to all tastes and requirements as our baby is currently weaning. The food is made onsite by an in-house chef. The menu is very broad and offers a wide range of nutritional value. The facilities for the starlight room is well catered for our baby. The staff have her doing a wide range of different activities from arts and crafts to imaginary play as well as toys which we are very happy with. We also like the app we use to monitor our child's development daily.

Review of Little Munchkins Montessori Nursery

Three of my four children attended Little Munchkins Montessori Nursery. Having had experiences with other nurseries, the experience with the team here far exceeded our expectations. From the initial tour and throughout the four years my children attended, we were always greeted with smiles. The staff ensured that the children are always well looked after. Their learning is supported at every step and they definitely also take care of their health and well-being. I felt assured that when I left my children in the morning, that they would be well taken care of. This was evident in the smiles that greeted me at pick-up and the eagerness with which they wanted to attend each day. They have now left to attend primary school but still think about their nursery family. We will always be thankful to the manager and her team for setting such a great foundation for our children!

Review of Little Munchkins Montessori Nursery

This was my first experience with a nursery, I placed my 9-month-old daughter there and she's now 2. The nursery is fantastic, she has developed so much there and I am certain it was the great work of her carers. The routine they established there helped our family life, as she became better at napping on the weekends and going to bed on time. She can speak so much for her age, can sing dozens of songs and misses nursery when we are away on holiday. I am having a second child now and feel so happy to know that I'm at Little Munchkins Montessori, they will be in the best care possible. My only tiny observation for improvement is regarding their menu. The food is excellent but there are some "naughty" desserts such as ice cream which I hope will be replaced by fruit and yoghurt.

Review of Little Munchkins Montessori Nursery

Both our children have been attending here since March 2017. It's so hard to find a place you feel comfortable and at ease in but in Little Munchkins both my husband and I constantly knew this was the place for our kids. Warm, friendly, fun, caring teachers that have developed so much with our children. I have to mention the cooking/food here - the cook delivers fresh yummy food that we can't compare to - no matter what options we offer :) We really are pleased with this Montessori who are very professional and easy to deal with. We will be sad to leave for another country and wish we could take Little Munchkins with us.

Review of Little Munchkins Montessori Nursery

My son was one of the first to join the nursery. I can safely say I have seen the nursery going from strength to strength from inception. My son was with another nursery in the same area, a very popular chain. The biggest difference I found was the personal attention given at little munchkins. They apply the Montessori method and I can see the results. My son's reading and writing skills improved at this nursery and he is now one of those readers in reception who get the highest reading level books. As parents, we want our children to be in a place where they are safe, their skills are developed and they are looked after well. What more can I say, my son looks forward to going to nursery every day and would leave me with a big smile. We found him happy and well looked after at the end of the day. In the previous nursery, he would not leave me to go inside the door. This shows the difference. The nursery has got some amazing teachers and my son has developed a special bond with all of them.

Review of Little Munchkins Montessori Nursery

I was very impressed with the layout of the activities both indoors and outdoors (delighted to see the well planned outdoor play area!). The nursery is wonderful and has been designed with care. The manager seems very knowledgeable and confident. Due to all these factors, I decided to enrol my son in this nursery. This nursery is easily accessible having located next to the A4 and close to the bus and tube stations.

Review of Little Munchkins Montessori Nursery

Choosing a nursery for our first child was always daunting and we looked at many options before choosing Little Munchkins. The place is so clean and seemed to be run so well. My wife and I felt at ease as soon as we met the manageress and her team and we knew this was the place for our daughter. She started here at 9 months old and my wife and I were always wary of leaving our baby anywhere, but the manageress and her team made us feel that our daughter was in safe hands. This has been proven by the way our daughter smiles when she enters and when we leave. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Review of Little Munchkins Montessori Nursery

My son goes to Little Munchkins Montessori nursery and I have got to say this is the best decision we ever made. We are just over the moon. To start with all the staff members are very affectionate, helpful, delightful and competent. They are very approachable and always try their best that each child should make the most of their knowledge. Settling in could not have been easier than this for my son. He always looks forward to go to nursery every morning. He is making full use of Montessori equipments. This nursery has lot to offer. He is becoming more independent, more confident. And credit goes to you. We get the feedbacks on regular basis. We get to see pictures and videos of his day in nursery on eylog time to time. We are very pleased with the way nursery is setup with a wonderful outside area to play. They also offer variety of healthy meals. All in all we are very lucky to have them. Wish this nursery had opened two years back so that my son could have stayed longer. Guys you rock!!

Review of Little Munchkins Montessori Nursery

We moved two children from a well established chain of nurseries to Little Munchkins Montessori Nursery. Children are 10 months and 3 years old. The difference is night and day, LMMN children and staff are so calm. Our 3 year old has become more mannered, polite, confident and aware. The 10 month old is more interactive, calm and confident. The old nursery compared to this one is not even in the same league. LMMN are amazing, secure and purpose built. I have nothing but praise. If you want your child to develop and be well mannered while academically advanced don't even consider another nursery.
