About Jigsaw Nursery School Pinner

  • Jigsaw Nursery School Pinner is an OFSTED GOOD (2024) nursery at Pinner Free Church on Paines Lane. The nursery, acquired in 2007, operates from three bright, spacious classrooms (Duckling, Robin, Owl rooms) for children aged 3 months to 5 years. It provides a welcoming environment focused on independence, with exceptional resources and nurturing support to help each child discover their unique potential.

  • Children explore through play-based learning in secure, age-appropriate rooms that encourage curiosity and growth. Experiences may include imaginative activities, early social skills and opportunities for self-directed discovery.

  • A large, all-weather, secluded outdoor area and nature garden support daily outdoor play. Children can engage in physical challenges, nature exploration and fresh-air activities in this safe space.

  • The dedicated team creates continuity and reassurance for families, with easy access via public transport and parking for stress-free drop-offs.

  • Could Jigsaw Nursery School Pinner be the right heart-of-Pinner setting for your child? Book a tour today and see the church hall and outdoor area.

Nutritional Approach

We believe food is fundamental to healthy growth, happy minds, and positive lifelong habits. In the earliest years, what children eat shapes taste preferences, supports brain development, and lays the foundations for long-term health.

All meals are freshly prepared on site each day using quality, seasonal ingredients. Our menus are developed with expert guidance, designed for inclusion, and go beyond Early Years Foundation Stage requirements. We want every child to become a confident, curious eater.

Meet Our Nursery Manager

Samantha Neal

My name is Sam, and I have worked at Family First for four and a half years, with a total of 16 years’ experience in childcare. I began my journey as an apprentice and have progressed to the role of Manager, demonstrating my commitment, dedication, and passion for early years education.

I hold a degree in Early Childhood Studies and am currently completing a Master’s degree in Child Protection and Adult Safeguarding, further strengthening my knowledge within the sector.

I strongly believe that every child deserves a positive start in life. In the early years, we play a crucial role in shaping the foundational skills that enable children to thrive. Providing a safe, nurturing, and enriched environment allows children to learn, develop, and grow with confidence.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is witnessing the transformation in children from their very first day at nursery to the day they leave. Seeing the positive impact that our team has made on their development is what inspires me every day.

Our Commitments

Our curriculum is built around five core commitments that guide how we nurture every child.

Critical And Creative Thinkers

Nurturing curiosity and confidence to imagine, test ideas, and solve problems through exploration.

Sense of Belonging

Building secure, trusting relationships so every child feels safe, valued, and confident.

Explorers of Our World

Connecting children to nature through outdoor experiences that build resilience and independence.

Confident Communicators

Supporting every child to express themselves in ways that are meaningful to them.

Happy and Healthy

Encouraging physical activity, healthy eating, and joyful experiences that support lifelong wellbeing.

Our Curriculum

Our curriculum is designed to support children's overall development through four key areas: Self-Regulators, Confident Communicators, Sense of Belonging and Independent Learners. Together, these nurture independence, confidence, emotional wellbeing and a strong sense of belonging.

We support children to understand and manage their emotions through consistent routines and a safe, nurturing environment, helping them build resilience and emotional awareness. Communication skills are developed through play, storytelling and group activities, with adults modelling positive language and active listening.

Our inclusive environment encourages children to respect one another, celebrate differences and feel part of the wider community. We also encourage children to make choices, try new challenges and take responsibility for their learning, developing problem-solving skills and a positive attitude that prepares them for their next steps.

Review of Jigsaw Nursery School Pinner

My daughter has been going to jigsaw Pinner since she was 12 months old and she has thrived in the loving and nurturing environment of the baby room. Her development has been phenomenal in this period. Now 2, she can string short sentences together, count till 20 and is independent in most of her self care activities. She has now moved up to the toddler room which has been a bit challenging for her as kids in this room are now a lot older and she is finding her own identity but the practitioners are all very kind and helpful in trying to get her settled into the new setting. The admin and communication wasn't the best to start with but things have improved a lot lately. In all, I feel my child is safe in the setting and she is learning and growing each day.

Review of Jigsaw Nursery School Pinner

Our son has been attending Jigsaw Nursery in Pinner since September 2025. So far, everything has gone really well. He is happy, safe and looks forward to each day he comes in. The staff have been brilliant with him and managed to form initial relationships quickly. He says their names at home and the names of his friends too! The outdoor space is great and well used. Whenever we are here, the atmosphere in 'baby room' us clam. Everyone seems happy and comfortable around each other. Thank you!

Jigsaw Nursery have been very supportive for our 3 year old. All the staffs have been super cooperative and assisted our baby from smaller toddler room to pre-school premises. We've seen a lot of progress since he's been here.

Review of Jigsaw Nursery School Pinner

We had a really positive experience viewing Jigsaw Nursery Pinner. The staff were incredibly welcoming and even went above and beyond by offering to play with my autistic older child whilst I looked around the nursery with my toddler. The preschool room was bright, open and spacious and there was a decent amount of outdoor space. The only thing that was missing for me was some nature space outdoors but it's not a deal breaker for us, and to be honest none of the nurseries we'be viewed locally have had this. Hoping to start my son here soon!

Review of Jigsaw Nursery School Pinner

Unfortunately, the nursery has not maintained its previous standard. Safeguarding is lax and staffing has not been consistent. The outdoor area is good for the younger rooms but there is just a concrete area with several tuff trays for the older children. Communication has not been adequate, but a response will be given. The nursery has lost its feeling of warmth and care towards the children although a few select staff have been fantastic. Unfortunately, the above played a large part in our decision to move settings.

Review of Jigsaw Nursery School Pinner

I have my daughter in Robins's room, which started in November last year. It was challenging with ups and downs. All I can say is that I have been heard, advised, supported, and vice versa by management and staff. I can see improvements, I can see positive changes. So far happy that I didn’t change the nursery and gave it another chance. It feels reassuring seeing the management in the nursery, in the room. And the training given to the staff so far was positive too. I am doing my part as a mother and can tell the staff are doing their best too. My daughter is happy to go to nursery now, she stopped being anxious, and she is getting better at interacting with children (I love seeing her making friends at nursery too). It makes me a happy, proud mother and such a relief seeing my daughter happy when it comes to talking about nursery, going to nursery, and leaving her there. Happy child, happy parents. Thank you to 5 members of staff in particular, and all the other hardworking staff.

Review of Jigsaw Nursery School Pinner

My daughter has been at Jigsaw since she was almost 6 months old and she is now 2. She has always been extremely happy there. The staff are incredible - they have so much energy and are so kind and caring. Communication with parents is excellent and the staff make a huge effort to put in special events and to get parents involved as much as possible. I would recommend Jigsaw to my friends and family without hesitation.
