About Harrow Day Nursery & Montessori

Harrow Day Nursery & Montessori is an OFSTED GOOD (2025) nursery in Harrow, based in St George's Church Hall on Pinner View. The nursery blends Montessori principles with the Early Years Foundation Stage, offering children from 3 months to 5 years a calm, structured environment where independence and warm care sit side by side. Spacious rooms with distinctive features create a bright, inspiring setting that feels homely and reassuring.
Each child has a key person who builds consistent relationships with families, helping new starters settle and keeping parents informed. Experiences may include practical life tasks, early literacy, creative play and following children's interests in a prepared environment.
A large garden (one of the biggest in Harrow!) gives children room to move, climb and explore varied textures. Outdoor play may include gardening, mud kitchen and slides, supporting healthy risk-taking and physical development. Regular parent involvement, including weekly sessions led by family members, creates a supportive multicultural community.

Nutritional Approach

We believe food is fundamental to healthy growth, happy minds, and positive lifelong habits. In the earliest years, what children eat shapes taste preferences, supports brain development, and lays the foundations for long-term health.

All meals are freshly prepared on site each day using quality, seasonal ingredients. Our menus are developed with expert guidance, designed for inclusion, and go beyond Early Years Foundation Stage requirements. We want every child to become a confident, curious eater.

Prachi Patel

Hi, I'm Prachi. I joined Harrow Day Nursery & Montessori in 2022. I'm a very happy, compassionate and understanding person with many years of childcare experience and I hold a degree in early years education.

I support and encourage all my staff in their career aspirations and aim to create a positive environment with a structured plan to help them achieve their goals and provide outstanding quality childcare.

I come from a very cultural background, love to travel and create memories, and am passionate about sharing different international celebrations within the nursery.

Our Curriculum

Our curriculum is tailored to develop a holistic approach throughout each room, allowing children to learn, develop and grow. We give open opportunities and cues to help support their own individual interests and needs, which allows us as practitioners to understand each child's learning development and next steps through their journey.

We want to make sure each child has a sense of belonging in the nursery and they are accepted for who they are. Our children build confidence and resilience and thrive on their own learning development and exploration of their own and new experiences.

We moved from Manchester and another nursery there. We were worried about our little one settling down but much to our relief he absolutely loved it there. The staff is amazing and was so accommodating. The nursery itself is big and spacious. Will definitely recommend x

We couldn't be happier with our experience at Harrow Day Nursery & Montessori. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warmth, care and professionalism. The staff are incredibly nurturing, patient and dedicated to each child's well-being and development. Our child absolutely loves going to nursery each day - which speaks volumes! The daily activities are thoughtfully planned, encouraging creativity, confidence and learning through play. We've noticed such positive growth in social skills, communication and independence. The facility itself is clean, safe and filled with age-appropriate toys, books and learning materials. We especially appreciate the regular updates, photos and communication from the staff - it makes us feel involved and reassured. I couldn't be happier with the care my daughter receives at this nursery. From the very first day, the staff have been incredibly welcoming, nurturing, and attentive. It's clear that they genuinely care about the children and put a lot of effort into creating a safe, enjoyable, and stimulating environment. Although my daughter is still a toddler and not yet speaking, she's always happy and excited when we arrive, and she settles in so well. It's reassuring to see how comfortable and content she is in their care. The team keep me well-informed with regular updates and photos, which gives me real peace of mind during the day. I truly feel she's in the best possible hands. This nursery has exceeded my expectations, and I'm so grateful for the kind, supportive experience they provide.

Review of Harrow Day Nursery & Montessori

The nursery staff have the best of intentions towards the children and are always thinking of new and innovative ways to keep them engaged. They recently had Donkey visit the nursery. The children learned a out life cycles with love chicks hatching from eggs. We are even impressed with the new learnings and habits brought home. The facilities are nice and spacious. The toddler and pre school room in particular. The garden space is large with lots to do. The administrative side continues to improve and engagement with parents is improving. Overall you can tell that this is a good nursery that is always trying to improve and doesn't get comfortable with where it is currently at, which would be easy to do after recently receiving a positive Ofsted report.

The staff are amazing, friendly, helpful, extremely caring with the children, the admin is great, so efficient. I have found the nursery exceptionally responsive to the individual requests that I have had with regard to the care of my son. My son are so happy and content here. The attention to detail is excellent and the staff certainly go that 'extra mile' to ensure that the needs of each individual child are met. I would never go else where and would highly recommend

The nursery is accommodating to children's needs. Some Key workers and staff are very good. We are happy with the overall management. My child is happy and I feel safe sending my child to the nursery. Cleanliness could be a bit improved when it comes to the time when the child is toilet training but overall we are happy with the nursery.

Review of Harrow Day Nursery & Montessori

Care and management from the nursery is excellent. Our child is happy to arrive for breakfast and can’t wait to show us all the things they’ve done when picked up. Daily reports through the app are thorough with photos. Carers are quick to inform us of any incidents and regularly put on family events. Facilities and the building itself (a former church hall) are excellent with plenty of indoor and outdoor space for children to enjoy.

Review of Harrow Day Nursery & Montessori

My daughter has attended this nursery since October 2023, where she started in the toddler room, but has since transitioned into the preschool. The staff were warm, engaging and caring, and she enjoyed the various activities planned each day. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the outdoor area is well-equipped and spacious as well. The staff are good with communication, and the app is very useful as well. I viewed several nurseries in the area, and this one was by far the most welcoming and spacious.

I’ve had a great experience with Harrow Day Nursery. My daughter has just started in the last month, and all the staff have been so helpful and patient in settling her in. The staff do daily updates on the nursery app of how my daughter is doing, which is great because as a parent, you want to know how they are when you’re not with them. Overall, I would highly recommend Harrow Day Nursery.

Review of Harrow Day Nursery & Montessori

After visiting approximately 10 nursery open days in the local area we chose Harrow Day Nursery and Montessori. My son has attended the nursery since August 2023 and has settled in so well. The atmosphere inside is very calm and clean and all the staff do a brilliant job. My son has learnt so many things through the varied activities at the nursery and both my wife and I are confident he is safe and well looked after. Communication with nursery staff is always fast and efficient. My son loves going to the nursery and is extremely happy so we know his needs are being met. We cannot recommend the nursery highly enough.

Review of Harrow Day Nursery & Montessori

My daughter has been attending the nursery since 2021 and she loves every minute of it. The primary caregivers are amazing and go above and beyond with her. She's always telling us lovely stories about her teachers and friends. It's a little community and I thoroughly enjoy listening to her about her time there. The teachers are awesome, cannot fault them in any way. They always listen, and if there's something wrong, they're hot on the trot to sort it out. She has adapted to the environment there with ease. The transition from baby to toddler to preschool was smooth and carefully thought out by her caregivers. There are lots of celebrations too, which she loves and we love attending too as parents. Lots of online activity, checking in on her progress with new work cycles. Her eating habits have also improved by trying new things there. I'd highly recommend Harrow Day Nursery to my friends and family. We'll be sending our second child there too.

Harrow Day Nursery has been a great option for us and our daughter. She's settled in very well and the staff have been so caring and warm. I feel my daughter is very safe there I can tell that she is well looked after during the day. It's a big nursery with good facilities and an excellent garden space. My son really enjoys his time at the nursery. It is often hard to pick him up without him wanting to stay longer watch day. The staff are always very informative, transparent and knowledgeable. My baby started at Harrow Day Nursery & Montessori a few months ago and I could not be happier with how he has settled with thanks to the staff who are kind and welcoming. For me to see my baby excited to see his key worker and other members of staff at the start of the day is lovely and reassuring. The building is spacious and clean and staff have lots of activities going on. My little boy has been attending Acorn Montessori since he was 11 months. From day one he settled in so well with the baby room staff. They made me feel so relaxed and kept reassuring me. He is now in the toddler room which is a busy room. He talks so much now about the things he has done. He loves the nursery and enjoys his time there. He talks about how much he loves his teachers and hearing him say how they help him, is so nice to hear.

My grandson has been attending Acorn for 1 year now, he started when he was 11 months old. We have seen him blossom, learning new words every day. He frequently comes home singing songs he's learned there and tries to teach them to us! Review of Harrow Day Nursery & Montessori

I have two children currently enrolled at Acorn Montessori and am delighted with the time they spend there. Not only do they engage in fun and exciting (and messy!) activities that keep them happy and engaged, they are learning a tremendous amount. They get to play in the large garden with lots of toys when the weather is suitable, which I am sure they love. They come into nursery happily; my toddler walks in confidently to his key person, whilst my baby gets a cuddle from his. The children come out clean and tidy, and fully evident of having been properly looked after. The staff are truly lovely with the children and they have formed secure attachments. I was always wary of nurseries after my experience of several with my oldest child - Acorn Montessori was sadly full at that time. However, since sending my two little ones to Acorn, I can honestly say I think it is a fabulous nursery and I am so glad I can send my younger children here.

Our daughter is currently at Acorn Nursery upstairs in the Preschool room and she is absolutely loving it. They do lots of cooking, planting, and creative activities. The outdoor mud kitchen is always a favourite of hers too! The team are super kind and available to speak to, we always know what they have been doing and what we can do to help as parents. The online system in place works really well. Our eldest son also attended the Nursery and we have felt the change of ownership since his departure has been dealt with professionally and sensitively. The ethos is still very much child-centred which we feel passionately about and we would still recommend this Nursery to other families.

Review of Harrow Day Nursery & Montessori

Acorn Montessori have been absolutely fantastic with my two boys. Since they started here I have noticed that they are much more articulate in their speech, their knowledge has improved with my 3-year-old learning new words and using the words in context such as 'mummy I am generous' when sharing food with his 18-month-old brother. My 18-month-old sings the alphabet from A to Z regularly and is able to use words such as 'share it' 'thank you', 'sorry' all in context and appropriately. They are very happy here. The nursery workers are always happy even at the end of the day. They are genuinely patient and appear to enjoy what they do. As a professional, I have noticed that the manager and all the workers are professional in their approach yet approachable, caring, compassionate, and really kind. They always seem to have and make time for you as a parent and nothing ever seems too much of a bother when it comes to them caring for your child. I highly recommend!

I feel genuinely lucky to have found this wonderful nursery. I had no idea how hard it would be to leave my 2-year-old son and the staff have been very understanding of this. The manager and deputy manager are such positive and supportive people, who radiate warmth towards the parents and children. My son’s key person is kind and sweet and has really taken the time to help him settle in at his pace. The 2-3 year old room is big, bright and clean and the outside play area is spacious and very well equipped. I am also very impressed with the variety and cleanliness of the indoor toys. There is something very special about the premises and the staff at this nursery and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

My son has been at Acorn Montessori since he was fifteen months old and I've been very happy with the nursery. It is difficult to leave your child in the hands of strangers, but Acorn Montessori has become like family to us and I really appreciate the way they have cared for my son. They do a range of activities and my son has always come home smiling and full of knowledge. He has turned into a remarkable young lad and I have no doubt that Acorn Montessori has contributed to this. As an NHS doctor, I have been impressed with the handling of the nursery during the pandemic. Thanks, Acorn Montessori team! Review of Harrow Day Nursery & Montessori

My daughter, who is now 7, started off at The Harrow (Acorn) when she was 1, before leaving for school at 5. My son who is 4 is still currently with Acorn. We have been very happy with the care provided to both our children. In particular, 2 of the managers who have managed the nursery impeccably ensuring the children are happy and comfortable. They have also attained the highest level of communication with parents, so as to build a sense of trust and ‘family feeling’ within the nursery. We have felt very comfortable in being able to call or attend the nursery with any doubts and they have in turn made all information available. Both my children have loved going to nursery and settled very well. They have learnt to a high preschool level, due to the attention given by the key workers and teachers. The work done by these 2 managers is highly commendable and I would recommend this nursery to all my friends and family.

I would rate Acorn Montessori as an incredible outstanding nursery. Having a lockdown baby has been very difficult, the nursery has made sure our child is happy, this has built great trust for the staff we leave our child with. Knowing the staff and your baby is happy is the most important thing. Seeing that support between parents, management and staff you know there is a great team behind them. Highly recommend this nursery.
