About CherryGrove Nursery

CherryGrove Nursery is an OFSTED GOOD 2025 nursery in High Wycombe, offering a calm and welcoming environment where children are supported to feel settled, confident and ready to explore. Children are cared for in age-appropriate rooms, with our team focusing on building secure relationships and planning play around each child’s interests and next steps.
Learning follows the Early Years Foundation Stage and is shaped through purposeful, play-based experiences. These may include sensory play, early language, stories, creative activities and time to explore, helping children develop curiosity and confidence at their own pace.
Children benefit from regular access to outdoor spaces, supporting movement, fresh air and exploration as part of their day. Each room connects to its own garden area, allowing children to move between indoor and outdoor play in a way that feels natural and balanced.
Physical development is also supported through an indoor soft-play space, offering opportunities for climbing, coordination and active play in a safe environment. Mealtimes are approached with the same care, with freshly prepared meals and a thoughtful focus on healthy choices.

Nutritional Approach

We believe food is fundamental to healthy growth, happy minds, and positive lifelong habits. In the earliest years, what children eat shapes taste preferences, supports brain development, and lays the foundations for long-term health.

All meals are freshly prepared on site each day using quality, seasonal ingredients. Our menus are developed with expert guidance, designed for inclusion, and go beyond Early Years Foundation Stage requirements. We want every child to become a confident, curious eater.

Meet Our Nursery Manager

Katie Long

Hi, I'm Katie. I started working at CherryGrove Nursery in 2004 and have been the manager since 2018. Childcare has always been a passion of mine. While working towards my qualification, I would frequently babysit and volunteer at a local Brownie Pack to experience working with various ages.

I qualified as a nursery nurse by achieving my NNEB in 1998, and I also completed a Level 4 course in Leadership and Management in 2018. I am the Designated Safeguarding Lead and the Behaviour Management Coordinator for the nursery. I have completed a certificate for Basic Food Hygiene, and I am a qualified First Aider.

I love being part of the children's early years journey and watching them grow in confidence and curiosity during their time with us.

Great nursery after viewing 9 I chose this one due to the food menu, staff approach and I also like that there is a good mixture of age groups of staff there. The app is good always getting updated on what they are up to aswell as nappy changes and gow much food they ate as well as photos every day. Happy with the learning and skills too.

My son has been at CherryGrove since he was 6-7 months old and is nearly in his 3rd year here moving in to preschool. They have made many amendments to ensure my son is happy and learning. I would always recommend here. All the girls are so kind and happy.

Cherry Grove Nursery has really aided my daughter's development. My daughter joined the nursery at 9 months. She is now 2 years old and extremely bright and advanced for her age. Her language skills and vocabulary expand by the day and a lot of thanks goes to the nursery. Will surely recommend!

Review of CherryGrove Nursery

We chose CherryGrove for our 2-year-old because, not only were the children happy when we visited, but the staff were happy too! We visited several nurseries in the local area, and CherryGrove gave us the best feeling. We are still so happy with our choice. Our little girl would go to nursery seven days a week if she could. She absolutely loves it, and you can tell they really enjoy having her too. I really enjoy seeing her bond with the staff in the room and her key worker -she adores them both. From the staff in the room to the office and the kitchen, everyone is happy and willing to help whenever needed. Our daughter's days are structured and creative, and the range of meals she is given is just brilliant! Management is kind, thoughtful, and super helpful. I have nothing but positive words for CherryGrove. I would recommend them in a heartbeat to any parent looking for a setting for their little one.

My daughter started off at nursery a bit shy but very excited to attend and her teachers were as eager to have her. She created such a great bond with her teachers and even the nursery managers and cooks because they are so lovely and interact with each and every student. I believe that my daughter knew every teacher's name even though she was not in their class; that's how memorable the interaction with each teacher was. She was well taken care of and disciplined fairly. She's leaving Cherry Grove Nursery a very smart, caring, and cuddly preschooler. She'll truly miss her time there. However, I know that she is well prepared to take on "Big school" thanks to them.

Cherry Grove Nursery has been an absolute blessing for our family. From the moment we walked through the doors, we knew it was the perfect place for our daughter. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with bright, cheerful rooms filled with engaging toys and learning materials. The staff at Cherry Grove are exceptional. They are not only professional but also incredibly caring and attentive to our child's needs. It's clear that they genuinely love what they do, and this is reflected in the way they interact with the children. Our daughter never wants to leave and is sad when it's weekends. What I particularly appreciate is the thoughtful approach to early childhood education at Cherry Grove. The curriculum is well-rounded, with a great balance between play-based learning and more structured activities. They focus on nurturing each child's individual talents and encouraging their curiosity, which has done wonders for our daughter's confidence and development.

Cherrygrove Nursery has always gone above and beyond for both of my children and my little one still attends the nursery. The communication between the nursery and the parents is exceptional as any questions and queries are always answered swiftly and with care I always kept in the loop with health risks, upcoming events, and the progress of my child through the app. All staff members are friendly and provide a welcoming environment for both children and parents. I can not stress enough how much my child loves attending the nursery. She always mentions how much fun she has with both staff and her friends. Review of CherryGrove Nursery

CherryGrove Nursery deserves extremely high praise. My daughter has been attending for over six months and we can see the difference and positive impact that the staff, other children and environment have had on her confidence, development and willingness to try new food! All of the meals are prepared with nutrition in mind. My daughter tells me she has eaten yummy food and I feel great knowing they are balanced meals! All of the staff at CherryGrove know my daughter's name, are always friendly, polite and caring. The nursery does lots of amazing activities with the children and teaches them to learn about other cultures and religious holidays/important festivals. The resources in my daughter's room are fantastic with a wide range of things they can do and experience. The manager and the team at CherryGrove are fantastic, keep in contact regularly and always have time for you. The app is always updated with activities and what they have eaten. CherryGrove has made a huge impact on my daughter and we are so grateful.

Review of CherryGrove Nursery

My 2 year daughter's prior nursery closed at short notice and Cherry Grove was able to accommodate her quickly for short duration and they were absolutely wonderful. Phone call in advance, her peg and tray were ready from day one with her name and photo and she had no tears and was happy to go and play. The app was used throughout the day to inform of food, activities, pictures and toileting. On collection she was happy and confident and hugged her new teachers and friends goodbye from day 1. We are moving out of area or would have been happy to continue here long term. The nursery felt secure and clean and the manager took time to call me before the last day to ask if there were any questions. Many thanks Cherry Grove.

Review of CherryGrove Nursery

My two girls have been going to this nursery for over a year and we couldn’t be happier. The staff are wonderful and that’s what makes the place so special, they genuinely seem to enjoy getting to know the children and catering for their needs. The nursery also has lovely facilities - a cool soft play room and lots of outdoor toys and games. It also has its own chef who makes delicious meals - they eat better in nursery than they do at home. The girls come home looking forward to going back, happy and well cared for. They also do great artwork. The management team are also very responsive and happy to go the extra mile. Thanks to all the team who work hard to make this place great!

Absolutely fantastic nursery led by a great management team. My child is so happy in the preschool room and has formed strong bonds with staff and friends. Staff support the children in their learning and they make sure there are lots of fun and varied activities. Great outdoor areas but also a soft play area for rainy days. Food is excellent. I feel confident that my child is being looked after by people who really care. Highly recommend.

My daughter has been attending for almost a year and settled in really well from the start. They use an app with regular updates and photos of the day’s schedules and activities and she regularly comes home with her arts and crafts. The key workers are good and have made a point of building relationships with my daughter and me, reviewing her development and needs as she grows and are always happy to receive any feedback. Overall, we have been very happy with the placement.

Staff were very caring and gave my daughter lots of attention. She has definitely come a long way and got out of her shell, became more confident and made lots of friends! She talked a lot about her teachers and friends and the ball pit which was one of her favourite playrooms in the nursery. Maybe would also be great if they did trips outside the nursery! But overall it is a great nursery! Definitely would recommend it!

CherryGrove Nursery has been amazing, my son started at just 9 months of age, I felt extremely worried as a first time mum leaving him, but all the staff members made his nursery journey enjoyable and they put my mind at ease. The staff are amazing with a caring mindset. It’s been wonderful seeing our son get excited about going to nursery. The teachers really make an effort to engage the kids and develop them in a very individualised way. The management is really committed to providing a safe, fun, and loving environment and we’re very thankful to the whole team! We have been using the nursery for eighteen months. From the beginning, it was a pandemic time which is difficult but we were satisfied with everything. Children have a lot of attractions and activities there. Each child is very important to them and treated individually depending on their needs. The food is very good quality. The carers are very friendly and the lady in the office is very helpful. The garden is suitable for children of all ages. The rooms inside are also very well planned and equipped. I am very happy that our daughter spends good time with friends there where we are sure that she is safe.

My daughter has attended CherryGrove Nursery for over a year now. The staff are so fantastic, they look after my daughter so well and are so kind to me. When I am upset or concerned they were superb, updating the app, quickly calling me and being, generally, very supportive. My daughter in the last year has come on, educationally, leaps and bounds with her confidence growing in social situations to no end. The staff really are what makes this nursery, this is everyone, management, care staff, kitchen team, everyone.

Review of CherryGrove Nursery

We have two of our children attending CherryGrove. One of them has a complex health condition and we were a bit reluctant about letting her go to the nursery and have “strangers” looking after her. The staff did everything to make sure that she is well looked after and all her medical and emotional needs are accommodated. In CherryGrove both our children become kind and confident, always happy to go to the nursery and have a special bond with their teachers. The staff always approachable and keep you updated all the time. The nursery itself is always clean and the equipment well looked after. To sum it up we think it’s one of the best nurseries in High Wycombe.

We’ve had both our kids at CherryGrove Nursery and honestly I can’t fault them. For a brief period whilst on maternity leave, my daughter was attending a different nursery which was closer to home and I couldn’t wait to get her back in to CherryGrove Nursery. The staff are exceptional.

Cherry Grove is a wonderful nursery, and I highly recommended it. My 3-years old daughter has blossomed there, from being very shy to someone who loves to meet people. My son has been with this nursery since he was 9 months old, he is leaving at the end of August 2020. All the girls (and boy) have been amazing with him over the years, the transitioning of rooms throughout his time has been so smooth and reassuring to both child and parent, my son has never come home unhappy nor has he never wanted to go to nursery! I literally cannot fault the whole team! They have really been amazing over these last 4 years and helped prep him for big school.

Review of CherryGrove Nursery

I have gotten to know this nursery and its staff over the last 3 years, and I could not speak more highly of the care my children have received. When my son started the care the staff took to ensure smooth transitions between rooms as he grew older was fantastic, the happy and engaging environment saw him flourish. When my daughter was due to start nursery we took the difficult decision to move away from CherryGrove to a nursery closer to my son's school, which was logistically better in school traffic. Within 3 weeks I knew I wanted to remove my daughter as the surroundings/systems/management were nowhere near the standard of CherryGrove. I immediately called the manager to see if I could get her a place. As usual, she was so accommodating and did what she could to make space. I was and am happy to leave the house earlier to battle traffic to attend CherryGrove. I have 100% confidence in them and their care and my daughter is loving it as much as my son did. I would absolutely recommend.

My daughter has been in Cherrygrove nursery since January 2019 and loves it. She has built good relationships with staff and has become very confident. She is able to enjoy her favourite activities and I love being able to see her pictures and updates on the parent app. All staff from the baby room supported my daughter with transitioning into the toddler room and she has settled in well. The manager is approachable, reliable and very supportive. A big thank you to all the staff for all you have and are doing for my daughter.

Review of CherryGrove Nursery

I will recommend this nursery because the staff are very good with the conduct they gave my child. My son is also looking well and always happy with the nursery and with the help of the nursery teacher. My child has improved with his speech and is also very good at reading his alphabet and counting his figures. My son started going to CherryGrove Nursery when he was just 3 months old and to be honest with the help of CherryGrove, I as a parent have been able to cope with my work. I can also see my son developing from stage to stage with flying colours in terms of development and progression wise.

My son has been attending CherryGrove Nursery since last year and I am extremely happy with the care and professionalism shown. My son settled well and he is always happy to come to nursery.
