About CherryVale Nursery

CherryVale Nursery is an OFSTED GOOD (2024) nursery in Ash Vale, offering a warm, familiar setting where children are supported to feel settled, confident and ready to explore. Housed in an old school building, the nursery has a homely feel and a strong sense of community, with our team focusing on secure relationships and calm routines.
Learning follows the Early Years Foundation Stage through purposeful, play-based experiences. These may include sensory play, stories, early language activities, creative time and gentle opportunities for independence as children grow.
Outdoor time is an important part of the day, with a range of recently refurbished areas designed for different ages. Children may also enjoy time in a sensory room, supporting focus, curiosity and emotional wellbeing.
Mealtimes are approached with care, and there may be themed moments such as Foodie Fridays that help children explore tastes and healthy choices in an age-appropriate way.

Nutritional Approach

We believe food is fundamental to healthy growth, happy minds, and positive lifelong habits. In the earliest years, what children eat shapes taste preferences, supports brain development, and lays the foundations for long-term health.

All meals are freshly prepared on site each day using quality, seasonal ingredients. Our menus are developed with expert guidance, designed for inclusion, and go beyond Early Years Foundation Stage requirements. We want every child to become a confident, curious eater.

Meet Our Nursery Manager

Charlotte Yardley

Hi, I'm Charlotte, the manager at CherryVale Nursery. I started working in childcare in 2012 and quickly worked my way through positions at CherryBrook Nursery before settling as assistant manager for eight years. After being promoted to manager, I covered at CherryStone and CherryBrook before moving to CherryVale in July 2024.

My approach is curriculum based but always rooted in care. Every child needs to feel secure and valued before they can truly learn and explore, so building those foundations is essential.

What I love most about this work is that every day is different. Seeing the children grow and develop keeps things fresh and rewarding, and watching my team's achievements is equally important to me. Supporting the practitioners as they build their skills and confidence means we can create the best possible environment for the children in our care.

The standard of nursery, and calibre of workers recruited has noticeably decreased since the "family first " takeover. The nice garden and hut/climbing frame has been replaced with a corporate style rather than something my son enjoys. The AstroTurf is a good idea.

This is a fantastic nursery. The outside space needs a bit of renovation and a bit more green space, but with a little investment this can be done. Cannot fault the nursery - great staff and facilities and activities!

Review of CherryVale Nursery

We couldn't be happier with CherryVale Nursery. Our son is excited to go each day and has always had a brilliant connection with his key worker. The transition between each room is very well managed. They get to enjoy a huge variety of activities, are encourage to learn and develop and have access to the garden whatever the weather. The menu is very varied so ensures they try lots of different things and are offered seconds if finished. The transition between managers has been seamless and we like the open days put on for us to visit with the children.

Review of CherryVale Nursery

We have experienced the baby, tiny todds, toddlers and most recently little learners rooms. All of the staff we have come into contact with have been excellent. They have all been enthusiastic, friendly and encouraging. They have taken the time to get to know our daughter as well as us. During our most recent class move, my daughter has become very tearful at drop off time. The staff have all been so kind to both her and I, reassuring me that this phase will settle. They have gone above and beyond to ensure she feels supported in her new room. The open days have been an excellent bonus, these are stay and play sessions for current children. The activities are very educational and well thought through. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this nursery to anyone - we feel so lucky to attend here. One of the greatest selling points of this nursery is its similarities to a school set up (different classrooms all within 1 building and a proper play ground area).

Review of CherryVale Nursery

My son started at CherryVale Nursery in August 2024, after being at home with me his whole life, I was so anxious about sending him to nursery. However, CherryVale made him feel so welcomed and loved. All the staff here are completely outstanding, and I really could not thank them enough for looking after my son. My son spends all his time in the baby room currently, and all 3 girls in here are incredible. From painting, bird feeders, playdough hedgehogs, they get to explore everything! They really work so hard, I could not fault them. Thank you to all the ladies at CherryVale, my son has is so happy here!

My daughter has been coming here since she was 10 months old and shes almost 3 now. She loves it here. All the staff are amazing and look after her so well. Her key worker is amazing and my daughter talks about her all the time outside nursery. The care is second to none and I would not hesitate in recommending CherryVale Nursery to anyone. My girls have been attending CherryVale Nursery since they were 6 months old (now nearly 3) and the care that they have received is nothing short of excellent. The girls love coming to nursery and I feel constantly supported with advice. The constant updates throughout the day via the app are really helpful and it gives an insight into their day. We have two children at CherryVale and both love their time here. It really comes down to the fantastic carers, who know them very well and quickly develop a great bond with them. Our little one has been from 6 months old and just enjoys every minute she spends here. We've tried some other nurseries before we moved here from London and can safely say, this is the best we've seen.

Our daughter has settled very well at CherryVale as the staff are so friendly and there is so much for her to do. There is good structure and themed weeks allow activities to be linked which enhances learning. The app updates are good but sometimes there isn't much info or inaccurate info at pick up i.e.: how much/what she ate.

Our son has been at CherryVale Nursery since 11 months old, moving through all of the age group rooms. He now is in preschool and is absolutely loving it. I can't speak highly enough of CherryVale, the quality of everything is first-class, this ranges from the care all the staff show to the children to the food but most importantly, the fun he has here. We are so happy about our experience with the nursery. Our son absolutely loves it and so do we! He made so much progress since he started one year ago, under lots of points: he was struggling to eat but here, thanks to the amazing chefs and the key person, he is finally eating well. There is such an amazing variety of food on the menus with also dairy options and he always finds something that he likes to eat. He is so much happier since he started at CherryVale Nursery, every day he happily walks inside his classroom with a big smile, ready to cuddle with his key person. His days here are full of activities: painting, reading, colouring and exploring inside the classroom and outside in the garden. So what I am trying to say is really a massive thank you to all of you for making my son so happy!

Review of CherryVale Nursery

My son has today spent his last day at CherryVale Nursery and I could not recommend it more highly. From the first moment we walked in I knew we had found somewhere special. My son started when he had just turned 1 and is only leaving to start school. He asked if he could stay forever which shows how much he loves it there. All of the staff we have encountered along the way have been amazing, from those in the office to the cooks and of course the wonderful teachers. They have all nurtured my son and helped him to grow, develop and ultimately flourish. Special mentions to the staff in pre-school. They are all superstars who have always been willing to share their knowledge and expertise. The daily updates and pictures are lovely and reassuring but it is the little things that make a big difference. How they have prepared my son for his next adventure and made sure his little sister is equipped to continue at nursery without him. Thank you. You're all amazing.

No words can describe how amazing CherryVale Nursery is. Our daughter joined CherryVale when she was only 3.5-months-old. She turned 3 in December and moved to pre-school in January. Throughout the whole nursery, each and every room and team member have been absolutely sensational. I couldn’t ask for a better nursery to send our precious little girl to. She walks in with such confidence and a sparkle in her eyes with excitement for what the day will bring. Every parent at some point questions the choices they make for their pride and joys but this is one choice I will never regret. I will be forever grateful for the experience CherryVale has offered our daughter up until now and can not wait to see her continue to flourish within their care. You are all one in a million.

I couldn’t recommend Cherryvale Nursery highly enough. My daughter has developed so much there and I have found all the staff to be amazing. I can’t find one thing I would complain about, the facilities are amazing and the kids learn so much. We were really supported with potty training too. It’s just an amazing environment and my daughter loved going there. I’m really sad we are moving away as I would have loved my son to have attended too!

This place is fantastic! My son always comes out with the biggest smile on his face. The variety of activities he gets to do amazes me. You can tell how passionate the staff are about what they all do and nothing is ever too much. A truly magical place to send your child. I’ve visited many nurseries, some very fancy ones. A friend recommended this nursery so I arranged a visit. Staff and children were so happy, I hadn’t felt that welcoming and warm feeling in any other nursery. The settling in was quick and the staff made it feel stress-free and they really care about children’s learning and development and ensure parents are involved too! As first-time parents, we feel so lucky to leave our precious son in such capable and warm hands!

Review of CherryVale Nursery

I can not recommend this nursery highly enough. This is our 3rd nursery in 4 years and by far the best. I have 2 children attending and both are excited when we arrive. They have settled in amazingly and created great bonds with key workers and other room staff. The management team are always very friendly and helpful. The App provides daily updates and development progress as well as pictures of the day. There are always focused learning topics such as firework night, remembrance, Diwali etc and key learning like jolly phonics. The food is fantastic and well balanced, gives me race of mind that I know they are having healthy fresh meals. As a military family, a parent deployed recently and the nursery was incredibly understanding and helpful to our needs and support. It is clear to me that all staff are highly motivated and genuinely interested in the children’s development and making sure they have lots of fun.

CherryVale nursery have been caring for my son since he was eight months old and have always provided high-quality care throughout his days at nursery. The staff are really friendly and helpful and always provide great handovers when I collect him at the end of the day. I really like the app and seeing how my son is doing throughout the day, seeing how he's eaten and finding out all the fun things he's done at nursery and seeing the photos of him playing and taking part in fun activities. My little boy has been attending Cherry Childcare since he was eight months old. I highly recommend this nursery to anyone looking for childcare. The staff are so lovely and are always high on quality with everything they provide, management also provide everything at a high quality and are very helpful too. Being a first-time mum it was frightening at first to put my child into a nursery so I could go back to work but CherryVale have made this transition so much easier for me as I can see that my little boy is having a great day at nursery with all his artwork and updates on the app that they provide along with lovely photo's. My little boy is learning new things everyday and I'm so happy and thankful for all the hard work that the staff put into everything that they do. CherryVale have been are childcare provider for four years. Both my son and daughter have received outstanding care from all members of staff. As a family, we love being able to see what our children have been up to daily on the app, which is constantly updated. The management have always been welcoming and willing to help when needed. Their staff are always going above and beyond to support my children, meet their needs and provide the love and care they need. The activities always look well thought out and provide many learning opportunities. My oldest left CherryVale happy, confident and sociable and attending school with such success.

Cherryvale Nursery has been a part of our lives as a family for the last 4 years. My older son attended Cherryvale in 2016 at the age of 2 years old and now my 2-year-old daughter attends and has done since she was 9 months old. CherryVale provides outstanding care and a brilliant home from home environment. The staff are always willing to help and have been brilliant when settling in our two children. The management have been brilliant with all concerns and worries we have had a family. They are quick to respond to emails and voicemails when needed. My children loved and continue to love the amazing activities CherryVale provides and there is always something new and engaging happening within the setting, from farm visits to themed parties. The Catering team provide outstanding hot and cold meals for the children and cater to special diets if needed - nothing is too much trouble. I have and will continue to recommend CherryVale nursery to family, friends and anyone else. Thank you CherryVale.

My eldest daughter joined CherryVale in the little learner's room, and the team couldn't have been more thorough and reassuring with the settling process. The nursery itself has many additional areas that my daughter enjoyed, particularly the climbing frame within the garden area and cooking in Preschool. All of the team members built strong bonds with my daughter, and she loved sharing with me her events from the day. Within the last year, I have registered my youngest to CherryVale and have experienced the nursery from the baby room. The team have gone above and beyond to reassure me with the process of returning to work and starting nursery. My daughter has just recently transitioned into the toddler's room, and again, the team have ensured a smooth and thorough transition, she has settled so well considering there are so many different bubble restrictions in place. The nursery has done amazingly with covid and done their best to ensure the children are safe and happy in their bubbles.

Working full time we needed a nursery that catered for these hours and the CherryVale Nursery caters for this. The staff do lovely activities with the children and the management team are always on call if needed. My son is thriving in most areas and I believe this has a big part from the nursery and the outstanding things they put into place. Wouldn't send my child anywhere else other than CherryVale childcare.

My child was very happy whilst at CherryVale. The staff seemed to genuinely care about him and want to help him achieve his full potential. All the staff have been brilliant over the past few months in relation to continuing to support families throughout the pandemic. All the staff working with the children prepare wonderful, engaging activities that they know the children will love.
