About CherryTown Nursery

CherryTown Nursery is an OFSTED GOOD (2024) nursery in Sandhurst, offering a small setting with a big heart and a homely feel across two age-group rooms. Our team brings a strong depth of experience, helping children settle warmly and supporting each child as an individual.
The nursery is arranged across two levels, with rooms and resources matched to children’s age and stage. Learning follows the Early Years Foundation Stage, with experiences that may include stories, creative play, early communication, messy play and themes such as mindfulness and movement to support wellbeing.
Outdoor play is a real strength here, with a large garden designed for different kinds of play and exploration. Children may enjoy a mix of open space, cosy corners and nature-based opportunities, including a small nature area with animals such as guinea pigs and rabbits, helping children build gentle curiosity and care.
Families are kept closely involved through open communication, so routines and progress feel shared rather than separate.

Nutritional Approach

We believe food is fundamental to healthy growth, happy minds, and positive lifelong habits. In the earliest years, what children eat shapes taste preferences, supports brain development, and lays the foundations for long-term health.

All meals are freshly prepared on site each day using quality, seasonal ingredients. Our menus are developed with expert guidance, designed for inclusion, and go beyond Early Years Foundation Stage requirements. We want every child to become a confident, curious eater.

Laura Gregory

Hi, I'm Laura. I've been working for Cherry Childcare since July 2002. I joined as a qualified nursery nurse and have worked my way up the career ladder to nursery manager.

I have worked with all age groups, gaining experience, and have also completed various other supporting qualifications such as Safeguarding Children, Safer Recruitment, Paediatric First Aid, Basic Food Hygiene, Health and Safety and many more.

I have two children of my own, so I know about parenting first-hand as well as through my professional experience. I understand the importance of providing an environment where children are cared for in a safe and stimulating setting where they can learn, grow and thrive.

Our Curriculum

At Cherrytown, we listen to our children and parents, using their ideas, interests and fascinations to develop a range of activities where all children are inspired to learn. Our curriculum is built on three pillars: confident communicators, resilience and self awareness, and curious explorers.

Children learn to express their wants and desires, share their thoughts and feelings in a safe space, and build secure relationships. They understand that everyone is unique and different, and they explore the outdoor environment while learning about our wonderful world and local community.

Our aim is to make learning fun and enjoyable through active learning and purposeful play, giving children the chance to explore, investigate, discover and learn at their own pace.

I highly recommend this nursery and the ethos and values they stand by. This nursery teach children through play with interaction and engagement. The meals are nutritional and varied. The staff and care they provide is exceptional. They do what they can for the community and have created a wonderful foundation and environment for my child to thrive in. Families are very much a part of the nursery and it creates a closer family connection for the children to be a part of.

We could not rate the nursery more highly. The team are so wonderful and have been so accommodating to help with settling in our little one and helping us with the transition too. The activities the children do are amazing and so varied, we love how much they go outside. The handovers at the start and end of each day as well as updates to the app are so thorough. We absolutely made the right decision choosing this nursery.

Both my children have loved it here! All the teachers are so amazing and kind. If we ever had any concerns or issues, they would deal with it immediately. The children are their priority and you can see that from the smiles that the children come home with. If I had more children, they would definitely come here!

CherryTown is so personable. Even the staff who aren't in the room with our children still know our children. There's a warmth about the nursery that er really like. Great handovers from staff, make you feel that they know your children. Love the outside space. Like the community feel and that open days are put on which is a chance to visit the nursery. Both children love going there and the people.

We've had an exceptional experience at CherryTown Nursery and I couldn't be more pleased with the care and education my child has received over the past 18 months. The staff are CherryTown's biggest assets. They are warm, friendly and genuinely passionate about their jobs. They take the time to really get to know children. The facilities are fantastic, clean and encouraging to younger children - highlighting the outdoor garden space which is fantastic and a great environment. Overall this nursery is outstanding. We feel confident and comfortable leaving my child in their care and it is clear this place is where children not only thrive but enjoy being here.

Review of CherryTown Nursery

My daughter has been attending CherryTown Nursery since July 2024, following a friend's recommendation, we absolutely love it. She gets excited on the way to nursery and I'm kept updated through the day on what she's eaten, what's she doing, nappy changes and sleep. I also really love the development milestone updates as I know other nurseries do not provide these. My daughter is so happy with at CherryTown and I love watching her development.

Our daughter has been attending CherryTown since June 2023, and we are extremely pleased with her experience. The staff are super friendly and genuinely care for all the children, fostering their individual development. Our daughter began in the baby and toddler room, progressed to Little Learners and will soon transition to Pre-School, with each move being seamless. My son started at CherryTown nursery in September and as a first time mum, this was a very daunting experience. At first, he was very reluctant to leave me and this made it very hard to walk away each day, but the team were so incredibly supportive and provided thorough updates to put my mind at ease. He now walks in extremely happily and ready to play. I cannot thank his key worker, and the rest of the team within little learners enough, for helping to settle him so well and make him feel safe. He has come on leaps and bounds in the few months he has been with CherryTown and we are so grateful to the whole team.

Review of CherryTown Nursery

Our son was having a bit of trouble adapting to his new surroundings after moving up in 'classes' at the nursery, but after addressing our initial woes with his key worker they had tailored a plan over a period of time to ease him in and our problems were a thing of the past. He loves coming to CherryTown and is always up at the crack of dawn and raring to go, excited to see his friends and the staff. When he comes home he has many stories to tell, and is very keen to tell us about his day.

Our daughter was initially nervous and struggled to settle but with the help of the kind staff, she happily went in. We appreciate the extras the nursery does e.g. the Christmas show, parent afternoons, etc. The staff are friendly and approachable. We are looking forward to our youngest joining soon too.

Both my oldest (who just started reception) and now my youngest (in 0-2) have enjoyed their time here. No tears ever at drop off. Always happy when they come out. My little one has attended Cherry Town Nursery since he was six months old and he has enjoyed every single day. I want to thank the lovely staff who were part of our son's development and helped in preparing him for school, through extensive and educational activities. Overall experience has been fantastic for my daughter. Her key worker and other staff have all contributed to her development and she has loved going every day for the past two years! Only real negative for me would be picking her up from outside, I understand that since Covid things changed, but I would prefer to come inside to collect her. Well done CherryTown though, my wife and I are really glad to have had our daughter here!

There have been times when management/inquiries have been confusing or unclear. However, they have always been happy to answer my questions with patience and respect. Review of CherryTown Nursery

Our two girls moved to CherryTown Nursery in December 2021 when we moved into the area. Both girls absolutely love the days that they spend at the nursery and always walk in smiling and excited to see everyone. The staff are interested in the children and keep parents informed of what they have done in nursery via an app and at the end-of-day handover. On the few occasions that there have been small child behaviour issues, these have been dealt with professionally and a joint way of moving forwards (which was generally parent-led) was agreed upon and kept. I highly recommend the nursery.

Review of CherryTown Nursery

CherryTown has been absolutely amazing with my son from day 1. As a pandemic baby he struggled with speech and socialisation, but the staff took it all in their stride and before long he was flourishing. He's now in the pre-school room, and though there have been some challenges the whole team have been so helpful and supportive in making sure he has the best care possible. I couldn't say enough good things about the nursery and the team there, they've made such an amazing difference to my son's life, and mine.

We were interested in CherryTown Nursey because they have a great reputation in the community and a core of long-serving staff, signalling a happy and content team. Their communication was prompt and competent and on visiting, staff and children appeared happy and engaged. I've found the teachers to be responsive and sensitive and management thoughtful and creative in providing stimulating early years education and care. My kid is growing to become kind and independent and expresses his needs, and those of others, thoughtfully and confidently. A real credit to the efforts of his teachers.

I highly recommend CherryTown Nursery. My son loves it there, I can see he’s enjoyed himself from the photos they share daily and the fact he wants to go back in. The staff are very caring and attentive. The environment is safe and clean and since joining his knowledge and confidence have increased so much. To have this big of impact really shows how well she is looked after and how happy my daughter is when she's spending her time in nursery. I can not praise CherryTown Nursery enough for how happy my little boy comes home after nursery. He has the best time. Has been encouraged to explore and be himself no matter how much energy he has. Lovely menus and the events that take place and the celebrations of Mother’s Day, Valentine's, Christmas are so lovely and it’s nice for parents to be involved and get to see what their kids get up to via the app. I was so nervous when putting my little one into nursery, I didn’t trust anyone. But meeting his key worker and the rest of the team made me feel at ease. The manager is always available to chat to, along with the room leader who’s lovely as well. Every time there’s an event everyone seems to know my little boy and I’m just elated. I can’t recommend the nursey enough!

Our son transitioned from little learners to pre-school. We thought he may struggle but the staff at CherryTown Nursery have done an amazing job in getting him settled. They don't rush and take things slow. Listen to the children and look after them to no fault. Our son has learned so much in the past three months and it's all down to CherryTown. The food is excellent and a perfect balance of healthy and yummy. Their days are always full and our son loves going.

Review of CherryTown Nursery

My first child started at CherryTown Nursery almost five years ago and my youngest still attends the nursery. I cannot rate the nursery enough. The staff are so friendly and will go above and beyond to help you and your child. You can tell the staff genuinely care so much for the children. This shows in every single thing they do. All the meals are made fresh and the older children sometimes get to help make the food. The menu is well thought out, giving the children a healthy, balanced diet with lots of variety and my children often tell me they like nursery’s food more than mine so I gather they are delicious. My children have been/are so happy at the nursery and they learn so much. The nurses go above and beyond and put on extra social activities for children and parents, like grandparents' afternoon tea, Father’s Day sports day and Mother’s Day tea party. The level of thought and attention to detail put into everything they do is incredible.

Both my children (my son, 2017-2021, and daughter, 2022-now) have loved being at CherryTown Nursery. They have both grown to be kind and friendly kids and I believe it's because of the values they have learned while at the nursery. Their confidence in themselves and the awareness they have of others is also something I am proud they have learned. Also, my son, when he started school, had no problems getting started and I believe it's because the team at CherryTown prepared him. They also still ask after him which, to me, evidences how much they care! I would highly recommend it.

My daughter loves it here! We initially chose CherryTown because the staff really get involved with the children, playing with them rather than just leaving them to it. It's not just babysitting, they care and nurture all their children. The facilities are great! Soft play shed! They provide food, nappies, creams, everything at a reasonable price. It's just great.

My grandson has been attending this setting for just over 2 years. He loves going and even wants to go at weekends. The staff are amazing and are always happy to talk to all parents and carers at the end of the day. They always make me feel welcome. Nothing is too much trouble for them. My grandchildren have been attending this nursery for 3 years and it has been absolutely lovely. Before Covid was a thing they would include grandparents day in their celebrations and we would be invited in for a tea party with the children. This year although we couldn’t go in we still got made a card by our grandchildren. The team are all really lovely and very professional. I particularly like how the team is varying in ages and have a lot of extremely experienced staff who also have their own children.

Review of CherryTown Nursery

Our daughter recently broke her leg, we were particularly worried about what would happen in the daycare setting. Having made arrangements to take leave around the 3-6 week wait we contacted Cherrytown to inform them. The management and staff at Cherrytown were fantastic in their response and immediately asked if she was okay and how could they be of assistance where possible. Then a specialized Risk Assessment Plan was put together for her, accommodating the broken limb. During the uncertainty (COVID-19 and the likes of lockdowns) Cherrytown staff have been nothing short of fantastic in the day-to-day communication and specialized attention shown towards us. Taking on the additional responsibility and reassuring us that they are the professionals (yes, yes they are) and will manage it just fine. Manage it they did and our princess is getting back to her usual self. To all the staff involved, words fail to express our gratitude for all the care you take daily in caring for our baby.

We adore this nursery and the staff. They can't do enough for our son. The level of care and kindness is so heartwarming and the smile on our son's face when we drop him in says it all really. We will recommend CherryTown Nursery over and over again to friends and family. The app also provides so much comfort and you don't feel like you are missing out on development or big milestones because the staff take the time to capture magic moments and the daily diary is so lovely to read and gets me through my day. We love the fact there is a kitchen and all the food is made on-site and any dietary requirements are met without hesitation. We can't thank you enough for what you have done for our little boy. CherryTown Nursery have absolutely played a huge part in his journey and we will always be so grateful. Thank you.

Review of CherryTown Nursery

My son joined the nursery when he was 6 months old and I am so happy we went here. We had heard good reviews so decided on this place rather than a more local one to us (I would rather drive further if it results in better care!) He is now 3 years old and in pre-school. All of his appointed persons have been fantastic and clearly trained to a high level but you can just tell that they care and want the best for each child. All of the activities they do are clearly well thought through and organised. I have been lucky to meet the managers and it's awesome to see how they get so involved and not just behind a desk all day. Highly recommended, if we did have another child they would be going here no questions asked.
