The Hammersmith Day Nursery & Pre-School is an OFSTED GOOD (2019) nursery in Hammersmith, tucked within Richford Gate just off Richford Street. Our nursery cares for children from 3 months to 5 years on the ground floor of a modern development, with strong safeguarding and nurturing care helping every child feel secure, known and ready to explore.
Our bright, spacious rooms are flooded with natural light and thoughtfully arranged so children can move, investigate and learn in a calm, welcoming atmosphere. Our long-standing, diverse team brings depth of experience and a warm, family feel, building strong relationships that support childrens social, emotional and physical development.
Our outdoor play area offers a safe city space where children may climb, dig, ride bikes or tend to growing plants, turning even small moments into discoveries. Children may also enjoy a rich mix of extra experiences like yoga, Spanish, Playball or cooking-style activities, which support confidence, creativity and a love of learning in the heart of West London.

Nutritional Approach

We believe food is fundamental to healthy growth, happy minds, and positive lifelong habits. In the earliest years, what children eat shapes taste preferences, supports brain development, and lays the foundations for long-term health.

All meals are freshly prepared on site each day using quality, seasonal ingredients. Our menus are developed with expert guidance, designed for inclusion, and go beyond Early Years Foundation Stage requirements. We want every child to become a confident, curious eater.

Hello, I'm Natasha. I began my career in childcare in 2005. I've been a nursery manager since 2012 and joined Footsteps in July 2017.

Through my extensive experience working in early years, I have gained a wealth of knowledge, offering care and education to young children of all ages. I hold a Diploma in Childcare and Education.

I have always felt passionate about working with children, watching them grow, gaining their own identity and independence as they spend their early years with us.

My vision is to create a home from home experience to enable our children to feel safe and secure and have a fun-filled day, every day, while at our setting.

Our Curriculum

Our curriculum is built around four key pillars: Confident Communicators, Independent Learners, Pillars of the Community and Respectful Citizens. Each room has clear progression, with outcomes tailored to what children need to achieve before moving on. In the baby room, this may include forming secure attachments and beginning to use words. By pre-school, children are supported to hold conversations, self-regulate and develop a strong sense of belonging.

We embrace a "try again, can do" culture where there is no such thing as failure. Our environment offers opportunities for children to learn through play and adult-led experiences, with resources tailored to individual needs. Learning is active and engaging, so children may develop early maths and literacy skills through activities such as scavenger hunts, mark-making and problem solving. Our goal is for children to leave as confident, resilient and independent learners, well prepared for their next steps.

Review of The Hammersmith Day Nursery & Pre-School

We are so pleased to have found the Little Garden Hammersmith Day Nursery. Our 2.5 year old daughter has been at the nursery for 6 months and is now attending 3 full days per week. Communication with the management and staff has been brilliant, particularly during the first few weeks of settling in, and is made even easier through the app where we can see updates on how our little one is getting on throughout the day. The staff are kind and caring, and are always busy preparing fun activities. They have also gone above and beyond to help us with potty training. Our daughter has grown so much more capable and confident under their watch - would highly recommend to any parent looking for a nursery in the area.

I am highly satisfied with the nursery. Since my son joined in February, we have observed significant improvements in his behaviour and language development. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the staff and the manager for the structured approach, continuous support, and the educational tools they applied. Their consistent, step-by-step guidance played a crucial role in his growth, both as a child and as an individual. I would especially like to acknowledge two members of staff for their exceptional patience, kindness, and understanding towards our son. My daughter started going the the nursery in September 2024 and she simply loves it there. In the beginning didn't speak English at all, only Portuguese, and after less than three months, going only 3 mornings to the nursery, she had already learned the language and was fluent. She likes all the staff and always talk about them with love. She has improved so much her skills and I couldn't be happier.

I would definitely recommend the Little Garden Hammersmith Nursery. My daughter started when she was 6 months old and settled in very easily. My daughter has been attending nursery since just before she turned 1 year old. She has settled in beautifully and loves going to nursery. She has a very strong bond with her main caretaker and the other ladies, also. All of the staff working there are absolutely wonderful, the energy is great and they treat the children with love and kindness, which is the most important aspect for me as a mum. She is learning new things at a very fast pace now, and it is beautiful to watch. I am at peace knowing my child is in great hands. My daughter started attending at 1 year old and she has settled in beautifully after an initial bumpy start. She has learned so much and is picking up new words and skills now at an accelerated pace. Review of The Hammersmith Day Nursery & Pre-School

At the Hammersmith Day Nursery, our son has fun and engages in activities that are always different and stimulating. It offers the right balance between encouraging him to participate into new and diverse activities and letting him play and enjoy his favourite past times (cars and trains!), as well as between individual and group time. Children also get to spend regular time outdoors and once a week do physical exercise (playball), although everyone's favourite is Spanish with songs and a guitar. Staff is caring and attentive, the atmosphere always welcoming. Children are encouraged (but not forced) to become more independent, for example at the table during meals. Finally, it's nice to read the daily reports, especially when you can tell they are customised for your child.

Our son has been with The Hammersmith Day Nursery & Pre-School since August 2020 and we have seen him flourish since that time. He has transitioned into the pre-school room and we have been so impressed with the level of care, activities and learning he is receiving. They are doing an excellent job of preparing him for primary school as well as boosting his confidence and independence to take on this new milestone. We're always impressed with the diversity of the activities they do each day and get a full report on his actions via the app which is so useful. The staff are also excellent at encouraging his eating (we struggle with that at home!) and are grateful for their support in this area. Most of all, we love the staff who clearly love and care for him and all the other children so much, and you can't really ask for more than that. We will be sorry to leave!

We have been with the nursery for over a year and it’s been such a wonderful experience for our little one, as well as the parents. The nursery has a perfect balance of education through play and our toddler is thriving. She has love and support from the nursery team to grow both emotionally and intellectually. My son has attended Little Gardens since he was just shy of a year old and will leave later this year as he starts Reception at 4.5. I can’t describe how great the care for him has been at this nursery/pre-school. Not only is it well run and organised, it is obvious that every single person who works there cares deeply about the well-being and development of my child. It’s been a true partnership and I will miss it in the autumn. My son has been cared for, loved, hugged, offered well-balanced and nutritious food, learnt things, had his creativity and imagination stimulated and learned great manners (much better than I could have done on my own!). The nursery has also managed difference beautifully; my son is donor conceived and I’ve been included in Father’s Day celebrations, they’ve taken the time to talk about families etc. Couldn’t recommend Little Gardens highly enough. Huge thank you from a grateful parent.

Our son has been attending the nursery for over 3 years now and he is so happy there. All the lovely staff were part of our son's development and 1st stage in life and helped prepare him for school through creative and educational activities. My youngest son has been going to the Hammersmith nursery since November 2021. He started at three months old, so very little still, but I knew he was in good hands. First and for all because his older brother also started there and he was always very happy there. The little one was received with lots of affection and the staff absolutely really care, that is what I like most. The children are all individually very important to them and that is very comforting. Also, the premises, the activities and the menus are top level. I thank them very much for everything they do for my two boys.

We have had two daughters at The Hammersmith Nursery, both of whom have flourished within it. The activities are varied and stimulating, we get a lot of detail on their progress and daily activities and they have a wonderful bond with the nursery staff. Compared to other nurseries, staff turnover is noticeably lower and there is a very stable management. Furthermore, the management has gone to some lengths to provide male members of staff, which is very important. The team is dedicated and manage and respond to feedback well. The nursery's relatively long opening hours (0730 - 1830) are a real help for working parents. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Hammersmith Nursery.

My daughter started in September 2021, we hadn’t been into the nursery to visit because of COVID and had just signed her up on a recommendation. Our son started at exactly one-year-old and during Covid. Although the transition was a bit more difficult for us than for him since parents were not allowed inside, our son settled in very well and they made sure to keep us updated about progress and what we could do to ease him in. He loves his teachers and comes home very happy every day. The staff do a great job teaching important skills, sticking to the government guidelines and our son has learned so many new things while attending (including yoga!). We are constantly impressed by his meal selection and love that they give so many nutritious options. The nursery does a great job updating us and we absolutely love the app which provides daily updates and photographs on our son's activities, eating, etc. We would highly recommend the nursery!

Our son attended this nursery from November 2018 to August 2021 and it has been a really good experience. The staff have always been nice to all of us, doing their best to help us with any issue that could occur. The place is really clean, the food sounded delicious - and according to our son it was, the songs, games and activities carried out were perfect for the correct development of our son's skills and certain members of the staff even became our friends. Our son really liked them and was happy to go there every day to see his friends and play with them along with his carers. I would definitely recommend this nursery to anyone. Your child will be in good hands at this nursery, no doubt.

My son enjoys going to the nursery. He started during Covid but he settled in fine and the carers were great at giving us updates on his progress each day, and the communication and photos through the app give us reassurance that he's having a good time. The children spend a good portion of time outside every day (weather permitting) and there's a varied course of activities including Spanish lessons, yoga and sign language. 2020 has been manageable for us, as a family, thanks to the nursery team. They were great supporting us when our sons were and were not attending the nursery. Most importantly, they’ve never realised how bad the situation was. Thanks to everything the manager and the team have put in place to provide them a safe and "normal" nursery. Our little girl started at the nursery nearly a year ago when she was 12 months old. Like most children, it took her a few days to adapt to the new surroundings and people, but thanks to her key care givers' attention and care, she's really fallen in love with Little Gardens. She's excited to go in every morning and comes home each afternoon eager to relate her day to us (never mind that the language she uses is her own!). As parents, we really appreciate the app that allows us to read about her daily activities, skills development, and even her daily eating/sleeping/nappy habits! The team is so caring and their creativity with the children has no boundaries; yoga, Spanish classes, sign language, etc. The team at LG has been wonderfully responsive and accommodating, which has certainly been welcome during this year of lockdowns. I'm happy to give a wonderfully positive review and have recommended this nursery to every parent in search of one.

We are so happy with this nursery, our son has been there for twelve months now after we switched him from another nursery where, among other things, we were frustrated with how little time he was spending outside. Our son loves both indoor and outdoor play, which he now gets a lot of and he gets to take part in many different stimulating and creative activities. The staff are clearly devoted and well-trained to provide our children with a well-balanced and happy early years development experience. We also really appreciate the daily pictures and updates we receive about how his day has gone. He seems to be developing such a wonderful bond with the carers and other children! Communication with and from the management team has been great, especially with regards to health and safety measures during the pandemic. They are a hard-working team, committed to keeping the children and the staff safe.

Firstly, big thanks to all the teachers and staff at the nursery. We have had kids at the nursery since 2017 and we are very happy with the support provided. Our daughter is happy going in and loves her friends and teachers. It has been a stressful year for all but the nursery has done a great job managing that. Our daughter is learning so much, it is pretty remarkable. The play ball, the Spanish songs, the relaxing breathing, playing in the garden, pet snails and chicks are all great but the most important thing is the love and kindness of the staff.

We have been very impressed with everything about this nursery – from the communication with parents to their approach to the children's learning, playing and development. The daily feedback on what our child has done at nursery (including pictures) is incredibly reassuring and helps us feel connected with our child's day-to-day activities. The management team also communicate regularly and their high regard for health and safety during the pandemic has been extremely comforting. The staff are all very warm and friendly and we can see how happy our child is to be there. They pay attention to detail and really seem to care about your child's development and progress – as well as, of course, the importance of having fun! The nursery has a progressive approach to a healthy lifestyle for the children – from well-balanced meals and yoga to spending lots of time outside. We feel very confident our child is receiving a well-rounded early years experience.

We are so pleased to have found this gem buried in Hammersmith Grove. It makes dropping our child off a joy knowing that they are going somewhere they love, where you feel sure that they are safe, happy and cared for. The learning journey updates are such a nice personal touch as you watch your child develop and it’s wonderful to watch them flourish in ways I could never have imagined! The team are excellent and seemed to quickly get to know the children as individuals. They have also taken extra safety measures to keep them safe over the pandemic meaning nursery has stayed open which has been a safe haven for the development of these young little people who have had such a strange beginning to their lives! Little Garden Nursery in Hammersmith has been the best place to have our little one attend! We moved from a different country and we immediately engaged with the team who made us feel welcome and even our daughter was excited to attend every day! The team is loving and caring which is exactly what you want for this age group (1-2). She is always singing songs from nursery and we have seen a huge development boost especially in her vocabulary coming from a two-language household! The staff here have done a phenomenal job, especially with everything going on this year. You can tell that they really care about the kids. They have all worked so hard to create a safe, fun and happy space. There’s such a good variety of different activities to help them learn and practice different skills and the garden is a good size for them too. They have managed to coax my shy little girl out of her shell and help her to form friendships with both her carers and her peers. After seeing Little Gardens Hammersmith nursery, I knew this was the nursery for us. I adored the setup and what the nursey has to offer. The staff seem friendly and very competent so I recently contacted the nursery to discuss options of my child attending. I am so impressed with the way my questions were answered and how reassured I felt during my conversation that I have registered my little one's spot for next year. I believe the person I spoke to was the manager of Hammersmith nursery and she really made me feel at ease, how professional and passionate! One thing I love is that the nursery is plastic-free and this is absolutely incredible.

Little Gardens is a fantastic nursery which we would highly recommend. Our daughter joined when she was a 5-months-old baby and is now a confident 20-month-old toddler. The Little Gardens staff have nurtured and guided her through every development stage. The staff are competent and loving and they are tuned in to the children’s individual needs. The communication and management is very good which has especially showed in the professional handling of the recent Coronavirus crisis. Every day the kids have different activities on the program, for example crafts, baking and playing in the outdoor area. Our daughter clearly loves being at Little Gardens as she runs towards the nursery door every morning!

Our son absolutely loves Little Garden – and so do we! He's been going there for just over 18 months and we've seen nothing but positive changes from the nursery in that time. The fantastic manager looks after a dedicated and caring team, all providing a really welcoming environment. They've dealt with the uncertainty of the COVID lockdown brilliantly in recent weeks and have been very proactive about putting in place measures to reassure parents and protect the children on their return. Day-to-day, they have a brilliant range of activities in place for the children – from Spanish to yoga – and the food is phenomenal. Our son also loves playing in the garden and they're good about getting the children out there almost every day. We're super lucky to have ended up with Little Garden almost on our doorstep, and we love watching our son develop under the watchful eye of such a great team. Thank you!

My son has been attending Little Gardens for just over a year now. I was incredibly impressed by all the measures they have put in place during the COVID crisis. They have ensured that the children are happy and safe. I have always been very happy with the nursery, often I have been very reassured by their care, the management is incredible and I have often spoken to them about my son and they know everything about him even though there are so many children. There is a wonderfully kind and personal touch to the nursery which you often do not expect but very much want in London. Our second child is due in August and I wouldn't send them anywhere else!

I can't thank the staff enough at Little Garden, they are simply amazing. We were a little worried about our daughter returning to nursery after lockdown as she apparently is in a peak 'separation anxiety' phase. However, nothing had changed from when she was there before lockdown. As we ring the buzzer at the front door in the morning, each time she smiles and gets more excited when the carer comes to the door. It's such a great way to start the day and get to work knowing that she is well looked after with staff who make her feel so special, who really care about her development and how she's progressing. I can't tell you how lovely it is that she is somewhere where she can enjoy, learn and chat to her new friends (even though she can't even talk yet) - she pretty much doesn't want to leave at the end of the day either! Thanks again to all the staff there, you should be extremely proud of what you achieve there every day and the difference you make to our lives.

Review of The Hammersmith Day Nursery & Pre-School

We couldn’t be happier with Little Garden Hammersmith. The manager manages a wonderful team and we’re so grateful for how well they care for our 13-month-old daughter. Having been attending nursery for four months before having three months at home with us as a result of lockdown, we were a little apprehensive about how our daughter would settle back in. The nursery team have been thoughtful and careful with their return plans and our daughter seems to love nursery more than ever. She’s developing quickly, making friends and goes to nursery very happily every morning. We couldn’t ask for more. Thank you.

They are kind, caring, patient and loving towards the children and it is always a happy place for the children to be. Review of The Hammersmith Day Nursery & Pre-School

Our daughter has been attending Hammersmith Day Nursery now for over a year, and we couldn’t be happier – and neither could she. We love how much she’s learned there, we both remember when the first time she finished her dinner and neatly placed her knife and fork on her plate to announce that she’d finished. She’d been slow to learn to walk, but within a few weeks of being at the nursery she was suddenly trying hard each day to get it right, and they were so supportive of her. The nursery also gives us lots of transparency about what she’s been eating and doing, what she’s learnt each week and how she’s progressing against the rest of her year group. Most importantly though is the kindness of the nursery staff and the fun that they bring into her life, and that’s obvious every day with how much she clearly loves everyone there.

Review of The Hammersmith Day Nursery & Pre-School

Having relocated from Amsterdam at the end of 2019, we were concerned about how our three-year-old daughter would adjust to life in London, especially with regard to a new nursery. The team at Little Garden have been nothing short of fantastic in helping her settle quickly and making her feel comfortable. It's clear that she has had a great time when we collect her and her development is noticeable. She came home counting to ten in Spanish recently. The team at Little Garden have also been excellent in their communication during the time of lockdown and Covid-19. They have kept us up to date with information on re-opening and have clearly explained the steps that they have taken to make sure the nursery is as safe as it can be for the children to attend. As parents, they have made us feel very comfortable during these uncertain times. They arranged Zoom calls to stay in touch with the children and sent through various activity ideas while the nursery was closed, which were helpful.

Review of The Hammersmith Day Nursery & Pre-School

Our son has been going to this nursery for a year and a half so we have experience with both little buds and little climbers classes and we are very happy so far. His development from a little baby to an independent toddler has been amazing thanks to many things he learned here (e.g eating with cutlery). The staff is very friendly, approachable and yet very professional when it comes to educating kids and giving feedback on their development. The food is freshly prepared every day and our son loves it. It is a great advantage that they have an outdoor garden with a lot of activities where kids can spend time even in the bad weather. I also like that they take kids outside of the premises, e.g going to a library, park, Christmas grotto etc and let them learn by an experience. Will definitely recommend this nursery as it is a very good value for the money!

Review of The Hammersmith Day Nursery & Pre-School

My husband and I love this nursery, so much so that both our son and daughter attend it. Since moving our son here from another nursery, we have seen the significant difference in care and high quality of staff. The menu is very healthy and nutritious. We have been particularly impressed by the new manager and certain staff members in particular who have really nurtured our children. There are plenty of wonderful activities including sport and Spanish lessons and the garden area is lovingly maintained and very spacious for an inner city nursery.
