About CherryField Nursery

CherryField Nursery is an OFSTED GOOD (2025) nursery in Epsom, offering a bright, welcoming environment where children are cared for by a well-trained team and supported to feel safe, confident and curious. Our approach is calm and attentive, with a strong focus on safeguarding, wellbeing and the consistent relationships that help children settle securely.
Learning follows the Early Years Foundation Stage through purposeful, play-based experiences. These may include imaginative play, early communication, stories, creative activities and gentle routines that support children’s independence as they grow.
The nursery’s environment is designed to offer variety across the day, including four garden spaces that support fresh-air play and exploration. Children can also benefit from indoor physical play in a dedicated soft play space, bringing balance between active and calmer moments.
We have a new sensory room, adding another layer of age-appropriate experiences for children who benefit from focused, calming and sensory-rich play. Families are supported by a long-serving senior team, helping care feel consistent and reassuring over time.

Nutritional Approach

We believe food is fundamental to healthy growth, happy minds, and positive lifelong habits. In the earliest years, what children eat shapes taste preferences, supports brain development, and lays the foundations for long-term health.

All meals are freshly prepared on site each day using quality, seasonal ingredients. Our menus are developed with expert guidance, designed for inclusion, and go beyond Early Years Foundation Stage requirements. We want every child to become a confident, curious eater.

Meet Our Nursery Manager

Leonie Josiah

Hello, I'm Leonie. I've been working at CherryField Nursery since June 2010. I joined as a Level 3 qualified nursery nurse and have progressed my way up the career ladder to nursery manager.

Since joining CherryField, I've worked with all age groups and gained lots of experience. I've also completed numerous training courses, including Safeguarding Children, Safer Recruitment, Paediatric First Aid and Basic Food Hygiene, among many others. I also gained an NCFE Cache Level 3 award for Special Educational Needs Coordinators in Early Years Settings.

I ensure the children in our setting are well cared for and are in a fun, safe and stimulating environment. We provide a range of resources and activities so that the children thrive whilst in our care. I'm proud to lead a team that shares my commitment to ensuring all children leave CherryField with happy memories and the best possible start in life.

It was good, the shool and the clasrooms were lovely, my little one enjoyed and was very excited to be there, he already became comfoetable snd was playing. Overall, it will be a great place for my son to learn, grow and build his interactive and develop his communication skills.

We absolutely love this nursery! From the very first visit, the staff made us feel so welcome and reassured. Our child has grown in confidence, independence, and social skills since starting here. The carers are kind, attentive, and genuinely care about each child's development and happiness. The environment is clean, safe, and filled with engaging activities. We're always updated with daily reports, photos, and progress, which gives us peace of mind. The team does a fantastic job encouraging learning through play, and our child is excited to go every day. Review of CherryField Nursery

My son started at Cherryfield just after his second birthday. He was always very attached to home and slow to warm up in new situations - the kind of child who'd only join in at the very end of a party. But since starting at Cherryfield, he's completely come out of his shell. The confidence he's gained has been amazing to watch and has been noticed by friends and family too. He's also come home with so many new skills, and it's genuinely lovely to see how much he's learning and enjoying himself. The whole team at Cherryfield is fantastic - kind, caring, and clearly passionate about what they do. There's a warmth in the way they all work together that creates such a positive environment for the children. His key workers - have built such a special bond with him. Their care and connection with him feels really natural, like that of a trusted family friend. And it's not just them - every member of the team we've met has been just as warm, welcoming, and engaged.

Review of CherryField Nursery

My 3 year old and 1 year attend Cherryfield and I couldn't be happier with the care and support they have both received. Staff are attentive, knowledgeable, caring, fun and are just amazing! They genuinely care and want to be there which is invaluable. I feel that the staff know my children well and I have absolutely no concerns when I wave them off in the morning as I know they are absolutely in the right hands. The observations and the online portal is great. Staff keep it up to date so I'm never guessing what they have done, how much they have eaten etc, it's all there! There are also daily photos of the activities uploaded which again just provides such peace of mind! Honestly I do not really have the words to describe how happy I am that my children attend this nursery. We moved my eldest from another nursery and it was the best decision we made. It just doesn't compare. Thank you so much to all the staff at Cherryfield!

Right from the first phone call I had with the nursery through to both of my sons now having spent 6 months attending CherryField, the service provided by the wonderful staff has been second to none. We transferred our eldest son from another nursery having moved house and we couldn't have chosen a better nursery to move him to. Our youngest son started nursery here and both of them are so happy and take part in such lovely activities all day long. Honestly couldn't be more impressed with the facilities, the lovely staff and how much our boys enjoy it. Fully deserving of their rating!

Review of CherryField Nursery

Our daughter has been at CherryField Nursery since she was 1 year old. We felt this was early to take her and felt worried about her settling. The staff in the baby room have been amazing at reassuring both her and us and making her feel visibly comfortable. Everyday updates, personal, genuine feedback and friendly chats in the hallway show us our daughter feels safe and happy every day! It seems the idea that each child has unique needs is incorporated in all activities. CherryField truly feels like a community with its biggest asset being caring staff members (including all team members!) that seem to have a genuine interest in the well-being and development of the children. Review of CherryField Nursery

I cannot recommend Cherryfield enough! The staff in the baby room have done an amazing job at settling my baby into nursery life. She absolutely loves going there, and is now visiting to the next room and again is enjoying this transition. The staff go above and beyond to ensure the children in their care are happy and thriving. She comes home with artwork which is a special touch especially the Mother's Day card. My baby loves the meals, she always eats everything and I am very happy sending her to the nursery. I would highly recommend Cherryfield Nursery!

Review of CherryField Nursery

My child’s key worker is fab! She has taken the time to get to know my daughter and they have a wonderful relationship. All of the workers at Cherryfield including those that are not normally in the baby room are always friendly, welcoming and super helpful! The room is always clean and tidy, the food menu has a great variety and will offer an alternative snack if my daughter doesn’t eat the main lunch so that she doesn’t go hungry. The teachers work hard to set the room up with different activities to improve key skills. My daughter absolutely loves messy play and anything to do with arts and crafts all thanks to the nursery. I also think the security at Cherryfield is brilliant. Coded doors from outside to inside and each areas and a separate password too for those not parents collecting.

Review of CherryField Nursery

We are incredibly happy with CherryField Nursery. The staff are friendly, warm and caring and do a variety of activities to help develop and engage the children. I have two children who currently attend and all staff members have a great relationship with them both. The support they have given my eldest child, who required some additional development, has been outstanding. Both children arrive and leave happy each day, their daily app updates and photos are pretty impressive too! We can't recommend CherryField enough.

My daughter has been attending CherryField Nursery since she was twelve months. We have seen great progress in her development and all her milestones. The teachers are very loving and caring. Regular feedback is provided to parents. The nursery is also very organised with its internal operations, upcoming plans, GDPR etc. My daughter has absolutely flourished there.

This setting has blown us away. They are caring, nurturing and educational and have an excellent communication policy. Compared to a previous setting we used for our eldest child previously, they are miles apart - in a great way! We love how much our child loves going in with no tears and the bond she developed with staff and friends. I'd love for them to have more extra-curricular lessons like music sports etc.

Since my daughter started at CherryField Nursery, she has been looked after so kindly and the staff have been excellent. Although the initial settling-in period was challenging, the staff kept us informed and made us all feel so comfortable. My daughter loves going to nursery. Her teacher keeps her entertained and she loves seeing them. She enjoys the nursery food variety and especially even when she has a dietary requirement. Because of this, we are increasing days she will be going. The focus on learning is also amazing and the use of the app to keep parents informed about the day.

Review of CherryField Nursery

Cherryfield is by far the best nursery we have had the joy to experience. Both of our boys settled in really well from day one. The range of activities offered is absolutely incredible, each class has its own outdoor play area, and the staff really take a personal interest in developing their “wards” in the optimal way possible. They prepared our older son exceptionally well for starting Reception this September, and the headmistress of his school expressed her delight and satisfaction at how advanced his development and learning was. The staff are very informative and the Parent Link iPhone application updated several times every day provides such a great window on what one’s child is experiencing from day-to-day. We have never experienced any issue that needed escalation, and they are very flexible and accommodating. The one-to-one interaction that all of the children get is absolutely invaluable. I cannot recommend them enough.

The activities they provide and set out are so fun and engaging for the children, my daughter learnt so much whilst being at nursery. Review of CherryField Nursery

Both of our daughters have been attending here since September 2019 and I can't praise the staff and set up enough. My youngest started in the baby room and settled in like a dream, thanks to the very welcoming team there. Our eldest daughter had been attending another nursery where we previously lived and found the move hard at first, but the staff in the pre-school room were fantastic and really helped her to find her feet. The difference between the nursery we used beforehand (a well-known chain) and Cherryfield is astounding. The range of activities, rooms, garden space, and the quality of communication are all far superior, which makes us extremely glad we made the change. All the staff we have interacted with have been positive, caring, and thoughtful. I also really rate the app - it's great to see what they've been getting up to and photos of them enjoying themselves.

Review of CherryField Nursery

I cannot praise the nursery and the nursery team at CherryField Nursery enough. We have 2 children currently attending nursery, both of them are extremely happy and are progressing very well. Every staff member who has worked with our children has always been very kind, supportive and caring. Our children have always loved attending nursery, and have learnt a lot from attending. They have both been really well cared for throughout the day with lots of cuddles if they need them and compassion if they fall or hurt themselves. I definitely couldn’t recommend this nursery more highly to anyone. The staff are excellent at communicating with us and the app is fab.

Review of CherryField Nursery

I couldn’t be more grateful to the CherryField team, and more relieved that our little girl is in the best care we could ask for. I really struggled returning to work and felt so guilty and apprehensive, but everyone supported us and especially our little girl, nothing ever felt too much or annoying. The facilities are perfect for little ones, never a dull moment, and a healthy mix of fun and education. All the staff are very genuine, caring and professional. Can’t fault it.

Review of CherryField Nursery

My son (now 8) used to attend this nursery and my daughter is currently in the preschool room. Both of them started full-time nursery since they were one-year old, hence we have experienced every room as they moved up the ranks. The nursery is homey, the facilities more than adequate and the outdoor spaces and atmosphere are comfortable being next to a park. However, the staff are the real gem at this nursery and this is the most important aspect to us with our children being in the nursery five days a week. They look after the children well and are friendly and approachable, from management, room staff to catering staff. We have never had issue with any staff member all these years. They do a lot of activities (both fun and educational) with the children. My son had a fond memory of this nursery and my daughter is very happy. I highly recommend this nursery.

Review of CherryField Nursery

We have been really happy with the nursery which we started using in April 2015. The number of rooms separated by age works really well and we really like the fact each room has a garden so our daughters can be outside every day. The nursery is clean, tidy and well equipped. The real asset though is the staff. There are many staff who have worked at Cherryfield for a number of years and the consistency and quality of the staff makes the nursery outstanding in our opinion. Our daughters are really happy there and we see their weekly development from the activities they do there.

Lovely nursery where the staff really enjoy spending time with the children. Both my children attend and have done since they were about 9 months old. They are still both very happy to go to nursery and pre-school every morning and come home exhausted from all of the fun they've had! A special shout out to all staff from the baby room. CherryField nursery is a warm and welcoming nursery full of friendly and caring staff members. My son has received the best care since starting in baby room and absolutely loves going into nursery. They provide fun stimulating activities and resources and are also very good with the care they have given my son with his health and dietary issues by accommodating things to fit his needs. Review of CherryField Nursery

My daughter currently attends preschool here. She’s been here since the baby room so we have experienced each room at the nursery and have been very happy with each room. The range of activities are great, the outdoor space for each room is lovely. Staff are approachable and a handy app keeps you up to date with your child’s activities during the day, including photos. Food is healthy and varied. My daughter is bright and confident and I thank the staff at Cherryfields for that! It’s quite expensive, but I think this is true of most nurseries and I think the quality here is high enough to justify it.

My two children have always loved going to nursery because of how wonderful all the staff at Cherryfield are. Every single child development support worker the children have had has been caring and kind and always gone over and above to make sure the children are happy. I have found the communication excellent, I always know what’s going on, and what my children are up to. I cannot recommend this Nursery highly enough. The management team run it so well and are always quick to respond and super helpful.

My eldest daughter has been at Cherryfield Nursery for nearly 4 years and my youngest for just over a year. I can't fault them. The genuine care and support that the staff give the children is outstanding. My daughters have flourished in their care and are so happy to go to nursery every day. The communication from the staff is excellent and they are always responsive. I love the App so I can see what my children have been up to throughout the day. It will be a very sad day when my daughter leaves for school in September. If they did holiday clubs I would be sending her back there!

The nursery keeps the parents informed on all matters and we have always found everyone extremely and helpful. We will miss them when she goes to big school!! Review of CherryField Nursery

Our son loves the nursery and his teachers at pre-school. When he started, so much care was taken to make sure that he (and us!) adapted well to the routines and settled in. The staff were very thoughtful and caring and we were given regular updates on how he is getting on. He now loves going there and it’s amazing to see how his confidence has grown and what he has and is continuing to learn. They have a great balance between learning and fun and the children are also encouraged to behave well towards each other. I like the daily update in the app as it helps to know what they have been up to. Any concerns that we have raised have always been dealt with not only with great professionalism but also with tact, sensitivity and care and always resolved. The nursery has a lovely atmosphere and a happy environment and I have nothing but respect for the staff for making it such a lovely place. My only regret is that he will be leaving in September to start school.

All three of my children have attended CherryField Nursery on a full-time basis and thoroughly enjoy every day. My eldest is now at school but my twins have enjoyed every year since they were one. They particularly love preschool. They have asked me to write that their teachers are amazing! The staff are all very friendly and very accommodating with any special requests.
