About Footsteps Binley Nursery & Pre-School
Footsteps Binley Nursery & Pre-School is an OFSTED Good (2024) nursery within Binley Business Park, a short distance from Coventry city centre. Our purpose-built nursery provides a cosy, home-from-home environment where children from birth to 5 years are supported to feel safe and confident.
Each child is allocated a Key Person who acts as their main caregiver and primary point of contact, helping build a collaborative relationship between nursery and home. Our experienced team creates warm, nurturing care shaped around individual needs and interests.
Learning follows the Early Years Foundation Stage, with activities shaped around natural curiosity. Our nursery benefits from large, open garden spaces with separate areas for each age group, supporting physical development and wellbeing.
Children may experience enrichment opportunities including sensory movement sessions for babies, creative art ventures and age-appropriate activities. The setting includes a dedicated forest school area offering nature-based experiences.
We promote close parent partnerships through daily updates, play-and-stay sessions and active involvement in learning.

Nutritional Approach
We believe food is fundamental to healthy growth, happy minds, and positive lifelong habits. In the earliest years, what children eat shapes taste preferences, supports brain development, and lays the foundations for long-term health.
All meals are freshly prepared on site each day using quality, seasonal ingredients. Our menus are developed with expert guidance, designed for inclusion, and go beyond Early Years Foundation Stage requirements. We want every child to become a confident, curious eater.

Meet Our Nursery Manager
Abbye Dowdall
Hello, I'm Abbye. I joined Footsteps Binley Nursery & Pre-School in 2016 as nursery manager.
I hold an NVQ Level 4 and have over 15 years of experience working in the early years sector. With this experience, I have been able to provide a stimulating and balanced environment for the children to thrive in.
Being a mother of two, I can relate to and understand our families' requirements at nursery, always remembering the little extras go a long way.

Our Commitments
Our curriculum is built around five core commitments that guide how we nurture every child.
&w=2048&q=75)
Our Curriculum
Our curriculum is planned around the seven areas of learning: communication and language, physical development, personal, social and emotional development, literacy, mathematics, understanding the world, and expressive arts and design. This balanced approach ensures children experience a varied curriculum that supports all areas of development while keeping learning enjoyable and engaging.
Each term, our planning reflects children's interests and learning intentions, alongside observations, assessments and home learning shared by families. Room leaders plan collaboratively, using curriculum intent documents and termly overviews which may include seasonal themes, celebrations and festivals, and topics identified by staff.
Individual learning intentions are planned by each key person for their key children, informed by observations, assessments and any specialist support plans. We complete summative assessments termly and WellComm assessments four times per year to monitor progress and identify next steps in learning.
