About CherryHarbour Nursery
Cherry Harbour Nursery is an OFSTED GOOD (2023) nursery in Hayling Island, providing nurturing care for babies, toddlers and pre-school children within a purpose-built setting. Our nursery is designed to support children as they grow, with warm, attentive care that helps every child feel safe, understood and supported at their own pace.
Children are cared for across two closely linked spaces, allowing environments to reflect different stages of development. Babies and toddlers are supported in calm, nurturing rooms, while older children benefit from a dedicated pre-school space that encourages confidence and independence.
Learning is shaped around children’s needs and interests, with experiences that may include sensory exploration, imaginative play, early communication and gentle routines that support emotional wellbeing. Our team places strong emphasis on helping children understand feelings and relationships in age-appropriate ways.
Outdoor play is an important part of nursery life here, with a large garden space that children can enjoy throughout the year. Families are kept closely involved through open communication, supporting strong partnerships and reassurance for parents.

Nutritional Approach
We believe food is fundamental to healthy growth, happy minds, and positive lifelong habits. In the earliest years, what children eat shapes taste preferences, supports brain development, and lays the foundations for long-term health.
All meals are freshly prepared on site each day using quality, seasonal ingredients. Our menus are developed with expert guidance, designed for inclusion, and go beyond Early Years Foundation Stage requirements. We want every child to become a confident, curious eater.

Meet Our Nursery Manager
Chantelle Bartholomew
Hello, I'm Chantelle. I started working in nurseries in 2013 just after completing my Level 3 qualification at college, working my way up to room leader at CherryPark Nursery in June 2014.
I transferred to CherryHarbour Nursery in 2019 as support to the new nursery and enjoyed working alongside others in training, learning new skills and progressing in my role. I have since worked through different roles including nursery supervisor and my current role as nursery manager.
Throughout my time working in nursery, I have learnt a lot and gained a lot of experience. I have trained in Safeguarding, Paediatric First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, Managing Children's Behaviour and more.
I love supporting children through their early years and being part of their development journey as they grow, learn and build confidence.

Our Commitments
Our curriculum is built around five core commitments that guide how we nurture every child.
&w=2048&q=75)
Our Curriculum
Our curriculum is inspired by children and embedded by the team. In our baby room, we create a safe, home-from-home routine, focusing on speech and language, emotional attachments and physical readiness. Activities are led by children's learning cues, with care and support for every achievement.
Our toddlers develop independence and self-care skills, with support for toilet training, dressing and managing emotions. We nurture self-awareness through group times, sensory play and celebrating feelings of achievement. Children build special relationships, learn about sharing and turn-taking, and develop their speech and conversation skills with strong support from parents and agencies.
In pre-school, we focus on school readiness and our core values of proud, independent and understanding. Children receive praise for all achievements and are given the tools they need to succeed. They learn to advocate for their wants and needs, care for themselves and follow daily routines in preparation for school and the world around them.
