Nutritional Approach

We believe food is fundamental to healthy growth, happy minds, and positive lifelong habits. In the earliest years, what children eat shapes taste preferences, supports brain development, and lays the foundations for long-term health.

All meals are freshly prepared on site each day using quality, seasonal ingredients. Our menus are developed with expert guidance, designed for inclusion, and go beyond Early Years Foundation Stage requirements. We want every child to become a confident, curious eater.

Meet Our Nursery Manager

Kelly Everitt

Hi, I'm Kelly, the manager at Brimpton House Nursery. I joined in 2018, but I've been working in early years for over two decades. After gaining my Level 3 qualification at college, I worked my way up from a part-time practitioner to manager. Along the way, I've gained a Level 4 qualification in children's care, learning and development, a Level 5 in early years senior practitioner, and a Level 3 in both management and SENco.

I am passionate about ensuring children get the best start in life to help them continue through their school years and beyond. I strive to provide an environment where children feel at home, happy and keen to explore new experiences.

I'm a very hands-on manager and ensure that I spend quality time getting to know each individual child. I believe it's important to spend time in the rooms, mentoring staff and creating exciting play opportunities for the children.

Parent partnership is very important to me. I know that working together as one is a great way to support children to develop and become confident, independent individuals who grow to develop a love of learning.

Our Commitments

Our curriculum is built around five core commitments that guide how we nurture every child.

Critical And Creative Thinkers

Nurturing curiosity and confidence to imagine, test ideas, and solve problems through exploration.

Sense of Belonging

Building secure, trusting relationships so every child feels safe, valued, and confident.

Explorers of Our World

Connecting children to nature through outdoor experiences that build resilience and independence.

Confident Communicators

Supporting every child to express themselves in ways that are meaningful to them.

Happy and Healthy

Encouraging physical activity, healthy eating, and joyful experiences that support lifelong wellbeing.

Our Curriculum

Our curriculum is called HICUP - Happy and Healthy, Independent, Confident, Unique and Proud. We use HICUP throughout the nursery to teach fundamental values and create meaningful learning opportunities for every child. Each room adapts how HICUP is woven into daily experiences, which may include group discussions, stories, role play, music and home learning activities.

Our practitioners use HICUP to extend learning, reflect together with children and ensure our curriculum responds to individual needs and developmental stages. We've even created a nursery bear song that children love to sing.

Review of Brimpton House Nursery

My daughter has been going to Brimpton House Day Nursery for 1.5 years and she absolutely loves it there. She has grown so much in confidence and developed so many new skills from her time at Brampton All of the ladies that look after her are so nice, warm, friendly and attentive and my daughter has grown very fond of several of the ladies there. I am very happy to hear how her day has gone and receive updates and pictures of what she did throughout the day. Truly a wonderful nursery and can highly recommend. it

Review of Brimpton House Nursery

My child has been going to Brimpton House Day Nursery for a few years and I can not express how amazing, kind, caring, supportive and understand their whole team are. My daughter has unfortunately had some health issues and they have managed to help support me and my daughter through all of this and just go above and beyond. Through times where, as a first time mum with next to no support around, they have helped me with the 'next steps' with my daughter provided me with advice and help. I honestly couldn't be more thankful and appreciative of everyone person who works at Brimpton House, they all work together as a team and ensure that they are always doing their best for every child that comes through their doors. My daughter and I don't see Brimpton just as a nursery we see them as family.

Review of Brimpton House Nursery

Our daughter is so happy at this nursery, and it's so reassuring to drop her off knowing she will be cared for so well by all the lovely staff. Allows us to concentrate on our jobs whilst looking forward to picking up a content little girl ready for the evening ahead. She's learning so much, and it's so funny to see her do things that we know she must have learnt at nursery! Would recommend it highly.

Review of Brimpton House Nursery

We've been at Brimpton since 2018, and both of our children have gone through all rooms. It's like a part of our family; many of the team have been there the whole time, and we've always felt extremely well-supported and informed. Will be sad to leave in a few months!

Review of Brimpton House Nursery

The staff seem to really care about the well-being of the children and giving them the best experience whilst they're at nursery. When I pick my son up he often is still playing rather than waiting at the door to come home, so I always think that is a good sign that he's happy and comfortable at the nursery. The manager and the team are always friendly and welcoming, and I feel lucky that he gets to attend Brimpton House!

Review of Brimpton House Nursery

We couldn’t be happier with Brimpton House as a nursery for our son. The staff have created a caring, comforting and familiar setting, but really encourage the children developmentally through stimulating activities, encouraging independence and forming bonds with adults and other children. We feel so lucky to have it on our doorstep and know that our son is in wonderful hands when we are at work.

Review of Brimpton House Nursery

I cannot speak highly enough of Brimpton House. Our daughter was at Brimpton from 10 months old until she started school, she absolutely loved it. Even now when we go to pick up our youngest, she is welcomed as one of their own with cuddles. The manager has done an absolutely fantastic job of creating a wonderful, homely atmosphere! The staff all seem like genuine friends, and they all love the children which is clear to see! They dream up lots of varied activities to help with their development, as well as being keen on teaching them how to behave amongst their peers. Highlights are the summer parties in the garden (the Garden is amazing lots for them to do) and Christmas shows – I will miss these! Our youngest finishes this summer and it is going to be extremely sad to leave Brimpton! I’ve been back and forward to the Nursery for nearly 6 years and it will be forever remembered as a happy place. My advice to anyone looking to have their children cared for is to look no further!

Review of Brimpton House Nursery

My daughter has attended Brimpton Nursery since she was one, and she is now in her last year. The entire nursery has the most wonderful, welcoming feel and sense of inclusivity and belonging. My daughter loves going. I drop her in the morning and leave with a spring in my step due to the positive, happy environment that the nursery creates, and this is entirely down to all the staff and their wonderful approach and attitude. I feel well-informed, and the children experience a multitude of wonderful, well-considered activities. She has gained so many positive attributes through her experiences at Brimpton, and all her class members have such a lovely, kind attitude towards each other. I could not speak more highly of the nursery and the support they have given me and my daughter. Thank you to all the staff for all their hard work.

We are delighted with the care Brimpton House provides our child. The staff are, without exception, friendly and full of energy and build wonderful bonds with the children, and we are impressed by how low staff turnover is. Nursery management and communication are excellent. We are so pleased with the confidence and skills our child has developed and the variety of activities, meals and experiences provided.

Review of Brimpton House Nursery

Excellent care and community environment. We feel lucky to have the nursery in the village, so close to our house. The staff are wonderful and I know my daughter is being taken care of when I drop her off. They communicate very well and the daily reports and pictures help us feel connected to her while she's at nursery.

Review of Brimpton House Nursery

A great nursery. All the staff are amazing and our child always has a happy time there. The garden area, activities for the children and genuine care shown by the staff are excellent. The only recommendation would be to bring back the breakfast, as this might help parents with early starts.

Review of Brimpton House Nursery

Our daughter (16 months old) started attending Brimpton House Day Nursery in September and we cannot fault the standard of Brimpton House at all. All of the staff are friendly and excellent! Our daughter settled in quickly and already loves going in. We receive regular updates on what fun activities they are doing at nursery during the day which is great. We would highly recommend this nursery.

Review of Brimpton House Nursery

The staff at Brimpton House Day Nursery have gone above and beyond in making our daughter's time at nursery so worthwhile, especially in the preschool room. The staff have nurtured her and carefully taken into consideration the way she likes to learn while playing. In the preschool room, the staff have been guiding the children and gearing them up for their next chapter - making it fun and ensuring confidence in their independence. The activities are thoughtfully planned each week, using themes and interests to help encourage the children. Being part of the Brimpton family has been a wonderful experience, one which will be treasured in our hearts and memories. We will be sad to graduate and head off to big school.

Review of Brimpton House Nursery

Absolutely brilliant nursery! The staff are absolutely fantastic and know all of the children well and interact with them beautifully. The rooms are a really comfortable size, with loads of fun for the children to have and very child-led learning. If they fancy playing with play dough then they play with play dough, if they fancy dancing then they put some music on. Plenty of books for the children to pick from and lots of things to borrow and take home too! My daughter absolutely adores all the staff in her room and her key worker in particular. The nursery managers are brilliant too; really helpful, always at the door at pick-up and drop-off and always with a smile on their face! They’re really reassuring and understanding, even if they ring to say that your child has a slight temperature or is poorly, so as not to alarm parents. Less impressed with the top management (outside the nursery setting itself) which has changed recently, but otherwise nothing but praise!

Review of Brimpton House Nursery

Brimpton House Day Nursery is simply wonderful. The structure, staff and environment provided at Brimpton are great. Our eldest who left Brimpton last summer for school, she was able to adapt to the ways of “school life” brilliantly due to how Brimpton had organised the pre school class. We have had no concerns sending our youngest here, and are excited for her to experience the nursery fully. The staff are always attentive and happy to help.

Review of Brimpton House Nursery

My 3 boys have all been very happy at Brimpton House Day Nursery in Kelvedon. It is the staff in particular, especially the long standing ladies, who have kept me coming back. They are kind and caring and I feel very secure in the knowledge that the eldest two were and the youngest continues to be really well looked after. The outside space is also a real asset giving the little ones lots of things to explore and time outside in the fresh air.

Review of Brimpton House Nursery

My daughter loves attending this nursery and we’re really pleased to be part of the Brimpton family. The staff are wonderful, caring (even life-saving in our case!), they know every child’s name regardless of which room they attend. They really care about how the children feel and approaches which best suit the child and their parents. Where key workers have left, Brimpton manage transitions between staff leaving and another taking over really well, ensuring the child always has someone very familiar to them within the same room. The premises are not huge but they really maximise the best use of space and the garden I would say is the best feature, it’s sizeable and allows the children to mix with others of similar ages. There is not currently a car park which can be an issue for some parents but for the most part, it’s not inconvenient as there are other places to park for drop off and pick up close by. We love the Brimpton team and are so grateful for their efforts and support.

Review of Brimpton House Nursery

My Daughter has attended Brimpton House Day Nursery for over six months. Since day one staff have been fantastic and our daughter has come on leaps and bounds. She is supported with speech development and overall communication. We have seen an amazing period of development while at Brimpton and would recommend as a place of care and learning for current or future parents.

Review of Brimpton House Nursery

This nursery goes above and beyond to support children’s development. They really care about the children and are extremely creative in what they do and our child loves going there, which is a great relief when you are busy at work. I have trust that they are doing the best for the children and appreciate their feedback and support with development.
