About Rainbow Nursery
Rainbow Nursery is an OFSTED GOOD nursery in Chertsey, at Almners Priory on Almners Road. Our nursery welcomes children aged 0 to 5 years into a historic priory setting, with strong safeguarding and nurturing care that helps every child feel secure and eager to explore. We build close family partnerships through detailed observations and regular updates on progress.
Priory rooms blend natural resources with quiet zones to spark Early Years Foundation Stage discovery. Our dedicated team creates daily routines that balance calm care with opportunities for curiosity and independence.
Priory grounds offer secure play areas, gardens and woodland trails where children take healthy risks and connect with nature. Opportunities may include sensory adventures and group explorations that build confidence and wonder.

Nutritional Approach
We believe food is fundamental to healthy growth, happy minds, and positive lifelong habits. In the earliest years, what children eat shapes taste preferences, supports brain development, and lays the foundations for long-term health.
All meals are freshly prepared on site each day using quality, seasonal ingredients. Our menus are developed with expert guidance, designed for inclusion, and go beyond Early Years Foundation Stage requirements. We want every child to become a confident, curious eater.

Our Commitments
Our curriculum is built around five core commitments that guide how we nurture every child.
&w=2048&q=75)
Our Curriculum
Rainbows Curriculum is a wonderful collaboration of all the best Early Years leading pioneers blended together to reflect our name of Rainbow in Practice.
Our exceptional outdoor environment forms the foundation of our children’s learning, nurturing a deep connection with nature throughout all seasons. With regular, long-term access to natural spaces, children are empowered to lead their own learning, supported by thoughtful adult scaffolding that provides balance and guidance
Our core beliefs are embedded in our commitment to viewing children as the valuable resource they are, ensuring they remain at the centre of all adult-initiated activities, with learning driven by their interests.
We create a delicate and intentional balance of age integration within our daily routine, providing meaningful opportunities for our younger peers to engage and interact with older peers. During shared mealtimes, circle times, and small-group garden experiences, children participate in peer-to-peer scaffolding and observational learning, fostering confidence, connection, and collaborative growth.
A broad range of hands-on experiential activities—such as woodwork, cooking, campfire learning, and studying life cycles—contributes significantly to the development of cultural capital.
