About Rainbow Nursery
Rainbow Nursery, based in Kentish Town on the border of Camden and Islington, offers a little slice of the countryside in the heart of the city. We are a small, welcoming nursery providing care and education for children aged 1 to 5.
The nursery is set within a quaint, spacious, and bright church hall, complete with a picturesque garden. Our larger outdoor space is full of hidden gems, including an enclosed mud kitchen, a firepit area, and a wooden house perched above the climbing frame, where children enjoy physical play and daily interaction with the natural world. We also have a smaller garden with its own pond and growing patches, giving children the chance to observe the cycle of growth up close.
Indoors, we provide a wide range of activities that support all areas of children’s development, while encouraging curiosity, hands-on exploration, and investigation.
Come and experience our home-from-home environment and discover why, at Rainbow Nursery, little minds grow in big ways.

Nutritional Approach
We believe food is fundamental to healthy growth, happy minds, and positive lifelong habits. In the earliest years, what children eat shapes taste preferences, supports brain development, and lays the foundations for long-term health.
All meals are freshly prepared on site each day using quality, seasonal ingredients. Our menus are developed with expert guidance, designed for inclusion, and go beyond Early Years Foundation Stage requirements. We want every child to become a confident, curious eater.

Our Commitments
Our curriculum is built around five core commitments that guide how we nurture every child.
&w=2048&q=75)
Our Curriculum
Rainbows Curriculum is a wonderful collaboration of all the best Early Years leading pioneers blended together to reflect our name of Rainbow in Practice.
Our exceptional outdoor environment forms the foundation of our children’s learning, nurturing a deep connection with nature throughout all seasons. With regular, long-term access to natural spaces, children are empowered to lead their own learning, supported by thoughtful adult scaffolding that provides balance and guidance
Our core beliefs are embedded in our commitment to viewing children as the valuable resource they are, ensuring they remain at the centre of all adult-initiated activities, with learning driven by their interests.
We create a delicate and intentional balance of age integration within our daily routine, providing meaningful opportunities for our younger peers to engage and interact with older peers. During shared mealtimes, circle times, and small-group garden experiences, children participate in peer-to-peer scaffolding and observational learning, fostering confidence, connection, and collaborative growth.
A broad range of hands-on experiential activities—such as woodwork, cooking, campfire learning, and studying life cycles—contributes significantly to the development of cultural capital.
Our overarching theme is one of Confidence. Confident in who we are, Confidence in ourself and our abilities, Confident in our voice, Confident to solve problems, Confident to fail forward, Confident to be present in life beyond, Confident in relationships, Confident in our growth.
