About The Fordingbridge Day Nursery & Pre-School
The Fordingbridge Day Nursery & Pre-School is an OFSTED GOOD (2025) nursery in Fordingbridge, on Salisbury Road at Burgate with excellent A338 transport links. Our nursery welcomes children from 3 months to 5 years into a charming Grade II listed former pub, where original features and generous rooms create a unique, homely environment supported by strong safeguarding and nurturing care so children feel safe, secure and valued.
Our character-rich building retains details like the old fireplace, now transformed into a cosy nook for babies to snuggle, explore soft textures and enjoy quiet moments, while larger rooms give older children space to move, investigate and play. Our highly qualified team is committed to meeting emotional and physical needs, helping children develop at their own pace and feel truly at home.
Our extensive outdoor areas include large play spaces where every room has direct access outside, along with a beautiful thatched-roof backdrop that adds to the storybook feel. Children may grow vegetables, make mud pies and cakes, race bikes and scooters, or explore sand pits while learning how to care for the natural world and enjoy being outdoors in all seasons.
Could The Fordingbridge Day Nursery & Pre-School be the historic, village-feel nursery where your child feels instantly at ease? Book a tour today and step inside our listed home.

Nutritional Approach
We believe food is fundamental to healthy growth, happy minds, and positive lifelong habits. In the earliest years, what children eat shapes taste preferences, supports brain development, and lays the foundations for long-term health.
All meals are freshly prepared on site each day using quality, seasonal ingredients. Our menus are developed with expert guidance, designed for inclusion, and go beyond Early Years Foundation Stage requirements. We want every child to become a confident, curious eater.
Meet Our Nursery Manager
Holly Godley
Hello, I'm Holly, the manager at The Fordingbridge Day Nursery & Pre-School. I've been working in childcare since January 2017 and joined Fordingbridge in October 2025. I hold my Level 2, Level 3, and Level 6 BA Honours in Early Years Education.
My aim is to develop as a manager and work my way up to higher management positions as I become a more confident and strong leader.
I lead with a nurturing, child focused approach, inspiring my team to create warm, caring environments where every child feels valued and supported. By empowering staff and modelling compassion, we work together to help children grow with confidence, curiosity, and a strong sense of belonging.
What I love most is witnessing each child's individual growth, development, and emerging personality. Seeing them flourish into confident members of their community is the most rewarding part of what I do.

Our Curriculum
Our curriculum is built around clear goals that guide every child's journey, woven into daily routines, play and interactions to ensure learning feels natural, meaningful and joyful. At the heart of our curriculum are five core aims:
Confident Communicators: Supported to express themselves, listen to others and communicate their needs, thoughts and ideas.
Curious Explorers: Encouraged to ask questions, investigate and explore the world around them with natural curiosity.
Respectful Members of Their Community and the Wider World: Learning about belonging, kindness, diversity and caring for the environment through real experiences and positive role modelling.
Knowing Myself: Understanding their own emotions, strengths and identities, building strong foundations for wellbeing and self-esteem.
Growing Independence: Encouraged to try things for themselves, make choices, solve problems and take responsibility for their own learning and care.
Each room has age-specific aspirations designed to reflect developmental needs. By the time children leave us, they have developed confidence, resilience, curiosity and a strong sense of who they are.
