About Coton Day Nursery
Coton Day Nursery is an OFSTED GOOD (2024) nursery in Coton, offering a calm, welcoming environment where children are supported to feel settled, confident and curious as they learn and grow. Set within a rural village, our nursery has a close-knit, community feel, with our team focusing on strong relationships and thoughtful routines that help children feel safe and secure throughout the day.
Learning follows the Early Years Foundation Stage and is shaped through purposeful, play-based experiences. These may include creative play, early communication, stories, sensory activities and opportunities for children to explore their interests at their own pace.
The nursery’s countryside setting plays an important role in children’s experiences. Beyond the garden, there are opportunities to explore nearby parks and open fields, where children may encounter animals, enjoy wide open spaces and build a connection with the natural world. These experiences support curiosity, confidence and a sense of exploration that isn’t always possible in more built-up areas.
To support learning beyond the nursery day, families may also enjoy access to a monthly lending library, encouraging shared reading and quiet moments at home. Nutritional Approach
We believe food is fundamental to healthy growth, happy minds, and positive lifelong habits. In the earliest years, what children eat shapes taste preferences, supports brain development, and lays the foundations for long-term health.
All meals are freshly prepared on site each day using quality, seasonal ingredients. Our menus are developed with expert guidance, designed for inclusion, and go beyond Early Years Foundation Stage requirements. We want every child to become a confident, curious eater.
Meet Our Nursery Manager
Viktorija Antonova
Hi, I'm Viktorija. I joined Coton Day Nursery in September 2025, bringing with me over nine years of experience in childcare. My career began as an apprentice, and through dedication and passion, I progressed to the role of nursery manager. I hold a Level 3 qualification and have developed a deep understanding of early years education and team leadership.
I love working in childcare because it allows me to make a real difference in children's early learning and development. Watching them grow in confidence, curiosity and happiness is the most rewarding part of my job.
What makes our nursery special is its warm, inclusive atmosphere, a place where children feel safe, families feel supported, and staff work together with genuine care and enthusiasm. I am also proud to be trilingual, speaking Russian, English and Latvian, which helps me connect with families from diverse backgrounds.
