Operations Director

James is a warm, people focused leader who cares deeply about creating environments where children and teams can thrive. Married to Chloe, an early years educator, and a proud dad to two lively daughters, he’s been close to the sector for more than 20 years through family life as well as his own work. Outside the nursery world he cheers on Colchester United and tackles DIY projects with enthusiasm, even if the outcome is sometimes up for debate. 

With experience across retail, healthcare, and early years education, James has developed a thoughtful, practical approach to leadership and operations. As Operations Director, he focuses on supporting nurseries to offer safe, nurturing, inspiring spaces for children, while helping teams feel confident, valued, and equipped to do their best work. 

James believes in steady progress, open communication, and creating a culture where people feel encouraged to grow. He is known for helping teams find simple solutions, strengthen practice, and build settings that families can trust, one positive step at a time.
