Apprenticeships

The Apprenticeship Scheme at Family First is a great way to start your career in Early Years. We provide you with the opportunity to ‘earn while you learn’ by gaining practical experience working within our nursery settings, whilst at the same time studying to become a qualified nursery practitioner. 

As an organisation we believe in organic growth, so if we put that investment in at the very early stages, and I think as a young person if you are offered an opportunity where you can earn money, get some training, and potential career progression, that’s a ‘win-win’ and the best of both worlds.

Don’t worry, you will be supported every step of the way.  Alongside work scheduled by your assessor and the online training, you will receive a handbook and have regular monthly progress meetings with your mentor to reflect on your learning and set quarterly targets. 

The Apprenticeship Scheme will not only develop your knowledge in Early Years but will equip you with skills to manage your work/study/life balance, goal setting, wellbeing and making healthy lifestyle choices. 

As you progress through to our level 5 cohort, there are coaching and leadership training opportunities, including companywide conferences where Managers and Deputies come together to share their knowledge and creative ideas through topic led workshops. 

We are passionate about people growth and supporting career progression. Many of our Managers and Deputy Managers started their career journey as an apprentice and have flourished into exceptional leaders and Outstanding Nursery Managers.  

At Family First, the completion of studies is celebrated, and recognition is given to those individuals who have been nominated as exceptional learners.
