Kids Play joined the Family First family in May 2023, bringing with it over 18 years of experience and a distinctive approach to learning through nature-based play.
At Kids Play, children are encouraged to connect with the natural world from an early age. Settings are designed around outdoor exploration, with woodland gardens, mud kitchens and vegetable patches where children can dig, grow and discover. Natural wooden toys replace plastic, and Forest School activities help build confidence, resilience and self-esteem. Practitioners follow a child-led approach called "planning in the moment", building on each child's natural curiosity and turning play into meaningful learning.
The flagship setting, The Childcare Hub in Milton Keynes, offers something truly special, with forest school sessions, a rooftop activity area and an outdoor climbing wall. Your guide to enrolment

Your tour is tailored to you and your child. You will explore our indoor and outdoor spaces, meet the team, learn about our curriculum and nutrition, and more, and have all your questions answered.
Our Customer Experience Team will be in touch to answer any questions and talk through next steps when you are ready.
When you are ready, we will send your enrolment form and payment links and guide you through this process. Once completed, your child's place is confirmed.
A few weeks before your child is due to start we will be back in touch with you to book your child's settling in sessions.

Kids Play nursery has been fantastic for both of my children. The staff are always lovely and welcoming, you can see they care about the children they are taking care of. They constantly have activities running to engage the children. The food is always good and my child enjoys it. Communication between staff and parents is exceptional and overall I can't fault them. I'll be sad to leave them behind when my son starts school.

Kids Play Bury St Edmunds Day Nursery has been nothing but incredible with my son, who is 1 year old, who has a quite intense asthma condition. They have gone above and beyond with making sure he is well, also they are very well trained and efficient with administering his medication. I can not thank the baby room staff and management enough for looking after my son so well and always happy to reassure me when he is poorly or having an asthma flare up.

I wanted to take a moment to share some heartfelt feedback on our experience with Kids Play Nursery in Bury St Edmunds. Over the past four years, having my children in this nursery has been an absolute joy, and we are deeply grateful for the exceptional care provided by the entire team. The staff at Kids Play go above and beyond every day to ensure my children are happy, safe, and well-loved. My children come home excited and fulfilled, with my oldest talking about the wide variety of activities they've enjoyed creative tuff trays and well-being tasks to outside play, singing, and dancing. I especially want to commend the new manager, who has introduced some truly thoughtful initiatives that have enriched the nursery's nurturing culture even further. My son has been at Kids Play for 4-5 months, starting in the baby room, and has flourished! He's now transitioning into the pre-toddler room and all the staff has been amazing! They keep you up to date with everything so I always feel well-informed, they always say hello and are incredibly friendly. They genuinely care about the children and know them all so well. We have had the best experience with Kids Play Bury St Edmunds Day Nursery! My daughter attended nursery there for a little over two and a half years (toddlers room through preschool) and during that time the staff has been caring and attentive. My daughter was always excited to see her teachers and engage in the many activities available to the children. The curriculum prepared her to start reception and the transition has been smoother than I could have imagined. The meals and snacks served throughout the day are plentiful and healthy. Communication from the daycare is top-notch. Our experience was so wonderful that we didn't even mind the nearly 1-hour round trip commute to/from our home. I recommend this nursery to anyone I can.

I moved my twins to this nursery 2 years ago and went straight into the preschool room and it was the best decision we made! The staff are excellent and give the children so many learning opportunities and I can't thank them enough for what they have done for my two little ones. This nursery was the furthest from home but the best nursery I've come across in the area. The staff are friendly and the children are well looked after and I've never worried about my children being in their care. My boys love this nursery. My eldest son has been here for the last couple of years, I also send his brother. No bad words to say!

So happy with the service, this is my second child going to Kids Play Bury St Edmunds Day Nursery. My older one used to go there from 2018 to 2020 and now my second one is in the baby room. Can’t recommend them enough. Very good communication, fast reply if I need help and amazing service. My baby is so happy at the nursery and she learns new skills, plays and eats very well there

Kids Play is a fantastic environment and deserves the highest praise. My daughter is full time for nearly two years in both the baby and toddler rooms. My daughter has thrived. Education is well delivered and individualised to her interests and her needs. She's learned good social skills and has improved her counting and letters. The staff have been excellent: kind, caring and attentive. They care about my daughter's personality and interact really well with her. If my daughter is upset about drop off, they are excellent about distracting her so she is happy. Settling in days helped with the transition to starting nursery. Activities are good and varied. They work hard at giving a good mix of outdoor and indoor play with plenty of books and toys. The food is good and varied, with lots of fruit available. Hours are longer than any other nursery nearby which gives flexibility when our work days are long. Communication is good, there's an app to routinely update parents.

I’ve been using the nursery for well over a year now. My son and daughter love the nursery and the staff are amazing with them. They enjoy the activities, learning and playing. The pre-school room sends regular updates and moments to the app, which is lovely to be able to feel part of their day and great to show them and talk about when we are at home together. The office staff are helpful and quick to reply to calls and emails. I'll be sad to say goodbye to the staff when they start school in September. I definitely recommend the nursery to other parents.

Kids Play Nursery are absolutely phenomenal. They look after my little girl as if she was their own, she has been attending since she was 8 months old and she loves going and I feel at ease when I drop her off. I know she is in the safest hands. I cannot thank everyone enough for how they have helped my family. They teach the children about different cultures, numbers, speech and so much more through play, singing and exploring outside. The care they show each child is wonderful and always keep me informed throughout the day of how my little girl is getting on, so then I don’t need to worry. The food that is provided is a really good standard and such a great variety. I know my little one eats really well throughout the day.

We've been using this location for my daughter since she was 1.5 and my son since he was born, over the last 2 yrs. Both have absolutely loved it. The teaching/caring style here has provided numerous opportunities for my children to play and learn in a manner that engages and encourages them to develop at a pace that best suits them. The staff have been absolute rockstars - every member is familiar and friendly with our kids, even if they are not my child's main carer, and my kids are over the moon to go there and see the various staff. The activities are varied and creative, the rooms are deep cleaned daily, the kids eat better than I do, and there is a ton of outside time. The staff pay so much attention to my kids and I can't imagine a better environment for them to be in. Communication has been frequent, easy, and detailed. They are accommodating in all matters, be it a blowout, forgotten outfit, or just an extra hug from a rough morning. I can't imagine recommending it anywhere else.

As a named person I had to pick up a child from the nursery for the first time. The lady in the office was polite and friendly while checking who I was and directed me where to go. On reaching the room the staff were polite and friendly but also checked who I was back with reception as I was someone new. They made the process easy while at all times ensuring that I was entitled to be collecting the child at that time. Feedback from the room staff about the child's activities were good and I was able to reassure the parents that it had been a good day.

The staff encourage the development of independent play and social skills which are notable at home. We receive frequent updates on the day's activities via an app and also at handover.

My daughter found it really hard when she had to start a new nursery during lockdown, but the staff at Kids Play went out of their way to make her feel welcome and give her a big cuddle. She always has a smile on her face when I collect her and is excited to tell me what she has been up to. After recently moving up into the pre-school room my daughter had a bit of a wobble one morning, but her previous key worker noticed that she was upset and picked her up to comfort her. It's moments like this that make me feel confident about leaving her in their care. I know that she will be well looked after and comforted when she is sad.

Kids Play has been a real blessing for our daughter and for us. She loves going - never looks back when I drop her off! It’s been great for her development - she’s excelling in all areas without even realising she’s learning whilst she’s there. And personally, I’ve found all the staff so helpful and caring without exception. I trust them all completely and where I have needed some specific help with things (e.g. my daughter’s eating or sleeping) I have found the whole team exceptionally helpful and keen to work with us. I was very nervous about choosing a nursery for my little boy but I immediately felt at ease when meeting the staff here. They supported both me and son by offering settling in session to ensure he ( and a very nervous mummy ) felt confident and comfortable in leaving him in their care. My little girl has been attending the nursery since she was 9 months old. She is now 3 and a half and absolutely loves coming to Pre-school. The staff at Kids Play are very welcoming, friendly and caring. They keep you up to date about your child with handovers daily and lovely parent consultations after their focus week. My daughter has made lots of friends and lovely bonds with the staff, she constantly talks about nursery when she is not there. She loves playing in the outside space and accessing a range of different activities. We love this nursery. All three of my children have come here, they cater for every individual need. My daughter is fussy and has a few general issues with drinking etc and nothing is ever too much. If I call with concern they put my mind at rest and I know my little lady is cared for and safe in there care. Couldn’t recommend them enough. I have sent all three of my children to Kidsplay in Bury St Edmunds. My youngest is now 15 months and has been there since he was 7 months. The staff are always so friendly and take the time to discuss every individual child with the parents. I really enjoy my chats with them in the morning and afternoon! My children were all extremely happy there and I have always found that my children's individual needs have been catered for excellently. The support in my children's social and learning development has been brilliant. I would definitely recommend this nursery!

Our daughter has been with Kids Play since she was 9 months old. She is now 30 months and it is wonderful to see the bond she has with all the staff. As a baby and a toddler, her learning and development has thrived, she is always excited to attend and talks about her day all the way home. As a parent I can’t praise the staff enough, they are always very professional whilst being completely approachable. It never feels too much trouble to discuss our worries or needs (sleep, potty training etc.). It has always felt like a partnership. The managers were very helpful throughout the Covid response, we thought they showed outstanding communication and understanding in difficult times, for them and us, particularly in navigating rapid changes in policy. I absolutely recommend Kids Play.

The staff at Bury St Edmunds Day Nursery have really gone the extra mile to support my son who has special needs. Nothing is too much trouble and they have an excellent knowledge and understanding of the special needs assessment process. The staff are so friendly, professional and the facilities are first class. The team at Bury St Edmunds Day Nursery have found the perfect blend of task focus to help the children's activities and providing a person-centred approach for the odd shaped pegs. My son has been extremely happy since he started at Kids Play in the baby room at 7 months old. He moved up to the toddler room at Christmas and still loves attending. He gets involved in lots of activities; getting very messy which he loves. He always has a belly full of food too. The staff and management have been great if any concerns or issues have arisen.
